If he manages to lock up Leigh Bodden, Chris Baker, and Fred Taylor, once again most holes will be filled before the draft, allowing us not to overweigh need. Man, he's good. Now if he can re-sign Sanders for short money and pick up a vet WR like Engram...
That was my first thought with the FA activity. It's easy to look like you "don't draft for need" when you don't have any needs. A couple of safeties, a WR and Russ Hochstein probably gets you there.
Ugh, and a long snapper.

Well, If TBC gets in shape, Woods continues his growth, and Adalius is still onboard at the end of the day...then there's the kids, four of 'em. I still think the gap is at ILB.And assuming Vrabel passes his physical, OLB. Although it will be interesting to see what the Pats get back. In my less naive moments, I think maybe it's with a flip of 1st rounders and they draft Curry...but I don't think that's very likely. I'm cautiously optimistic about Peppers. If he's renegotiated a long-term deal with NE, I'd be ecstatic. It has to be slightly erotic for Belichick to have a weapon like that at his disposal.
Well with Lonie gone, I guess Hochstein has a bit more leverage.

That has been my concern, but there's no doubt he's insurance.Does TBC still have potential? I'd be shocked if he made much of a contribution outside of special teams this year (if he makes the team). I think we've already seen the max potential for Mr. Banta Cain.

Depending on which Sanders. Lewis I hope you mean. No thanks on James.I'd be happier with a rookie

I don't; I'm not high on Peppers, but he'll translate to playing on his feet just fine.Do you have any concerns about the conversion of Peppers to a 3-4 OLB?
It wouldn't be insurance without the experience. :snob:Make that experienced insurance -- big difference.
