Win Accomplishes Rare Feat For Brady Over Rivers

Ian Logue

Philip RIvers should be used to losing against Tom Brady, and Sunday's loss added him to the record books with other QBs who can relate to his frustration.

Not to be pedantic but a score plus a two point conversion would have tied the game.

Not surprisingly is that Brady has owned a lot of quarterbacks whom he's played at least three games against.

I can't find the stats but oddly enough one of the few QBs that has had his number is Jake Plummer, go figure.

You heard it here ladies and gentlemen! Rivers finally made it into the record books! Shame on all you non-believers saying he never would!

Quarterbacks do not own Quarterbacks. They are rarely on the field at the same time. Matt Patricia, Bill Belichik, et al own those QBs. TB12 just happens to be the guy who takes a knee at the end of the game.

Of course, Tom Terrific may own their defenses. I would be curious what the split in offense/defense salary is for those teams. I would also be curious as to points scored vs points allowed.

Rivers was Brees' backup when the Chargers ran the Pats off the field in '05. He probably could have won that game with the way the Pats played that day.

Regards,
Chris

Yes, there is no arguing that the QBs don't technically face the other QB on the field at the same time, but they certainly are aware of trying to 'out do' or 'one up' the performance of the other.

....and yes, sometimes the lower performing QB will win the game, but most often the higher performing QB for that game will get the W. That's why records of QB vs QB are still relevant.

Good to see Archie making an all time list.
