Last year it was Wilfork and Samuel who all took their games to an elite level.

Who are the canidates this year?

Ben Watson. He has been good, but has the potenial to be great. With teams unable to double team him he puts up Gates numbers.

I would like the answer to be Hobbs and Sanders.

Laurence Maroney, baby.

Warren stepped it up last year

this year i say Colvin. Hobbs and Watson

that kid, junior seau
Know what? I'd love to see JS become a renaissance man.

But lets be real. What? Is Junior entering his 14th or 15th season? Too lazy to look it up right now but I'm guessing it's his 15th season. Can we agree that at the LB position that's just not the same as your 7th season? Can we establish consensus on that?

hobbs and laurence maroney hobbs 6 int maroney 1600 plus yerd

My expectation is Hobbs and, maybe, Sanders. My hope - Hobbs, Sanders and Pierre Woods.

Somewhere a bridge is missing it's troll!

watson, maroney, welker!
Gee those are all offensive players huh.
I think our defense will be okay though. Pretty sure we have enough established talent to be top 10 in the league again. We don't have to be a top 3 defense with this kind of offense.

Hobbs is going to have a break out year....I'm still piss about the so called face guard call....Bull$h1t call and everybody knows it...

Mankins: this year he will be recognized for what he is: the best guard in the NFL

Maroney: will explode; 1400 yards 10 TDs

Hobbs: played last year with a broken wrist. 2007 is payback.

Safe picks to improve:

Hobbs - Playing two handed
Sanders - Entering his third season; second with playing time
Bruschi - Two handed, back at WILB

Others with some improvement:
Gay - Health
Wilson - Health, contract year, and Meriweather push
Woods - Shows Progress in conversion & ST star

Others going down some:
Harrison - Recognized as "old pro" depth, not a starter
Boot Hill - Gets to practice hia mortician career

Gotta be Brady...as in Tom.

30+ TD's
Over 4000 in passing
90+ rating
under 10 ints

I agree with Maroney and Hobbs.

My answer, though, is Brady. Even with Givens and Branch he's never had quality and quantity of WR like this. Add the home field turf and we'll see an even better Brady.

Warren has been up for the past 2 seasons. Not sure how he "stepped up" last season.

As for players stepping up:
Maroney, David Thomas, Hobbs, Woods.

I agree completely, a whole new arsenal of weapons, the days of just picking up receivers up off of the street seem to be gone and there also seems a new appreciation of many reps so everyone is in sync. I am really looking forward to this season.. improved in all 3 phases of the game.

What about Randy Moss?

He has more to prove on and off the field than anyone.

Many people think he won't fit in here and will be a distraction and is over the hill.

its put up or shut up time for Eugene Wilson. He's in a contrct year and has struggled/injured the last couple of years. This guy use to be able to cover and deliver some hits. Perfect compliment to Rodney.
