Which 3 rookies would you draft if you could rewind?

Which 3 rookies would you draft if you could rewind the time back to April's Draft?

That's easy, Wolf:

Connor Barwin (or Clint Sintim) instead of Ron Brace;

Pass-rushing DE Lawrence Sidbury instead of the short, small OBurger;

And big RB Rashad Jennings instead of the superfluous Darryl Richard.

I still would've drafted LT Will Beatty ahead of SeaBass, but I'm willing to wait & see if he can become the next Michael Roos.

And I would never have traded our 4th- & 6th-rounders to Crazy Uncle Al just to move up 6 spots in the 2nd round so that we could draft Brace.

I can understand folks not wanting to give up 2 picks to move up to get Butler. After all, most folks had him as a first rounder. We just needed that 4th and 6th.

-When Oher fell to the Pats at 23, I was shocked the Pats traded out of the first round. Because I knew the Pats would continue to be a passing team first, Oher would've been the perfect option.

-I like Maualuga as a MLB, but not as an OLB in a 4-3. However, I think he would've been a perfect strong side 3-4 ILB ala Ted Johnson.

- I liked Butler before the draft and I'm glad the Pats got him. He's making some great strides and should be starting next to Bodden next season.

- I don't think anybody knew who Vollmer was, but I was just glad the Pats took an O-linemen.

- I hated the Brace selection at the time but tried to give it a chance. In addition, the emergence of Myron Prior and Mike Wright is making that selection look even worse.

- I like Chung, but I didn't like him at 34. I think the Pats freaked out because the Lions freaked out and took Delmas.

As of right now, my 3 guys would be:

1. Oher
2. Butler
3. Vollmer

Either way, the Pats gaining a extra second rounder next year gives the Pats many options. I'm pretty sure they will continue to rebuild the O-line and LB's with those selections. In the end, I'm happy either way.

Butler, McGowan, Vollmer, Chung, Brace, Edelman + 2nd round picks in 2010 excite me. I'm starting to see the whole new picture on our new D to start off the next decade of smart ownage.

...by Crazy Uncle Al? IDK; if he liked Butler that much, maybe he would've taken him at 40 and turned down Bill's trade offer. Then again, I suppose that Al could've also made a similar trade with another club who did like Butler enough to offer multiple picks in a trade-up. I would've taken Butler at 34 just to be safe, and instead taken my chances on Chung's availability at 41 or - preferably - 47.

I cant believe no one has mentioned that replacing Seymour in the draft or via draft trade.BB had to be aniticipating the trade. This would have been my first concern. We got great value for 23, I like Rey over Chung. I sit still and take Brace(no trading up) and Vollmer and take a chance with Michael Johnson at DE. If I have the 4th we didnt trade up we still get Ohrnberger(spelling,sorry) without having to give up Hobbs--who I keep for KR and nickel back. I think Rey, Hobbs, and Johnson are better than Butler and Chung.

No one's mentioned Jarron Gilbert, who was a favorite binky on this board leading up to the draft. A lot of people wanted him at 23, and would have died to get him at 58. Hasn't done anything yet for Chicago, but it's still early.

We had to give Crazy Al to prevent others from getting #40 and drafting Butler. I agree that Butler would have been a fine pick at 34. I suspect that we would have lost Chung, so it turned out better for Belichick's plans for it to fall as it did.

The more I consider the draft, the more that I agree with Mayo's analysis that the choice of Chung may have been a reaction to losing Delmas.
