What's the Stupidest Thing You've ever Thought/Said about the Patriots ?

I thought that Chris Canty was a great pick (looks like either I'm the only person to ever think that or the only one brave enough to admit it).

I don't think you're alone.

But meet Mr Lars Anderson of Sports Illustrated:

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/events/1997/nflpreview/AFCEAST/patriots.html

"All the key players are back, and they'll be joined by two new cornerbacks: free agent Steve Israel, who will play in nickel situations, and Kansas State's Chris Canty, who showed immediately that he might be a steal when, on the first day of minicamp, he intercepted three passes.

With the scheme change and player additions, the Patriots' defense now appears ready to assert itself as a dominating one. That's a scary thought for the rest of the AFC, considering that the New England offense, which sent four players to the Pro Bowl last season, is already as potent as any around."

[By the way, how do you know so much about music? I just ordered the Johnny Winter album as a birthday present from me to me!]

I don't think this was that stupid. Had Parcells actually give 100% during that game and not tanked the 2nd half, I believe things would have been different.

Of course, he did some silly things before the game even started. Like NOT dress Sam Gash and Troy Brown. WTF was that about.

so let's add this one:

'' no-no-no...now that we lost Drew Bledsoe we are finished...who is that guy Tom what ??? ''

I'm sending you a private message regarding this subject so as to not irritate other members with off topic subject matter.

They were late for a team meeting that week. Of course, now the story is Troy Brown was injured, but that's a cover up. He was late to a meeting, he was benched, Hassan Graham (or was is Hassan Jones?) took his place on coverage teams, and Desmond Howard twice ran right through Hassan for big returns, including the touchdown.

Tony Simmons has great potential!!!

What a value was Dan Klecko!!!

Parcells wouldn't screw his own team.

THIS year, Bledsoe will be GREAT in the second half!!!

Katzenmoyer will be our MLB for the next ten years!!!

...and the hits just keep on coming. :bricks: :bricks: :bricks:

Andy Katzenmoyer is gonna anchor our defense for years.

From the early 2006 files:

"Givens and Vinatieri will walk, but no way does Willie McGinest play in another uniform next year. 'His role is to play every down,' right?"

I cheered the selection of Greg McMurtry, and thought that Zolak had a future a NFL QB.

When Mo Lewis knocked out Drew Bledsoe in 2001...

I said out loud, "We are so screwed, this season is over."

My 2nd place statement was after Kraft hired Belichick I said, "Give up a 1st round pick for this guy? What a waste of a pick."

my stupidest thing by far:

after picking up belichick, and learning we would have to give up a first rounder,

i said we would've been better off with dom capers and shaun alexander than belichick

I've been waiting months to say something stupid...so here goes. Jeremy Mincey will start the season at ILB and NOT play OLB. AND will be the second coming of Ted Johnson.
