I'm sure we'll be contacting our targets but I don't expect an immediate signing. Usually the first couple of days teams ridiculously overpay for the one or two players they really want. I don't think we'll be doing that.
Again, they'll be on the phones, that's no doubt, and we might even see us sign someone early. We just have to be patient, even though that is tough when we see some of our favorite free agents drop one by one.
The worst thing about a new CBA was listening to the Redskins' Vinny Cerrito on NFL Network tonight saying that Dan Snyder has his plane warmed up on the runway waiting for the stroke of midnight.....
Wish List: Charles Woodson, as he would be perfect for the Patriots. He could be an inter-changeable part, switching from CB to free safety all year, based on the schemes and team needs.
I'd like to see a CB such as Ty Law or Woodson in the backfield. Both would be great being the greedy bastid I am.
I'd also like to see a backup to Wilfork. Doesn';t have to be a brand name, just someone who can play football. I think Wilfork has got the art of stuffing the run down after a dismal 1st half of last season.
As of 12:01 I'd like the papers to stop talking about signing a TE such as Putzier. We have two very good ones already and we can always draft one this or next seasons draft.
