I doubt Welker can get 1000 yards this season, but I don't doubt he's a good player

It is good to see an athlete with a chip on their shoulder and motivated. I think most people understand by now that Wes Welker is used in the Patriots' offense as an extension of the running game. He is always reliable and since most defenses do not use press coverage on slot receivers, it means if Welker can stay healthy, then he will be able to continue to catch many passes for years to come. With the new kicking rule, offenses will have longer drives this season with all the touchbacks, which means he could end up having a 1,000 yard receiving season.
