He's helping us more where he is. Hopefully he can win one more next week as part of our shadow roster (like Wiggie). With Herm at the helm and Ty on D and Trent Green befuddled we needed Damon there to give them a shot at knocking off a few of our AFC adversaries and improving our draft status would just be a bonus.
We did not have the opportunity to keep Damon Huard. He wanted to go to a team where he would be given the possibility of starting. He left, and he is now starting.

He came here to backup the franchise in Bledsoe, so I don't think that's exactly accurate. Actually I think it was more a case of he wanted to be paid as an elite backup as if he might start and BB wanted to use the several hundred thousand savings that resulted from not paying for a backup we were unlikely to use to be available to use better elsewhere. Back in the tight cap days so to speak. But it all worked out - as I recall Damon got a $1M+ per contract (at least initially) at the time and now 2+ years later he is playing for the first time in 6 seasons.
