BB D's can't get of on third down or in general. To reliant on turnovers again.

The Dolphins were 2-14 on 3rd downs last week and they have pretty damn good 3rd down personnel. The Pats have also held the Chargers to two scores through nearly 50 minutes of football.

The goal is to score more points then your opponents. BB did that again this week

Impressive work.

16 words.

1 factual error.

2 spelling errors.

No, we need more of a Pass Rush. I hope that one develops as the season goes on.

Holding last year's #1 offense in check is no small task.

your rock is waiting for you .........

That was an OK defensive performance all told -- 21 points given up against a good team, a couple of TOs that generated some modest field position for the offense.

But boy does the defense let opponents march up and down the field.

This is a "bend until it breaks and then just hope our offense bails us out" defense.

The rules have made it impossible for defenses to stop great QBs. Basically, you have to create turnovers to have a chance. The Pats did it today and the Chargers' supposedly Great defense did not.

Some of the the throws Rivers made were undefensible, Chargers are a good offensive team and its only week 2, lets see how the D develops as the year goes on.

Guys - The defense didn't "ALLOW" the Chargers offense to march up and down the field. The Chargers offense EARNED those yards. They have a top 5 QB in Rivers and a Top 5 WR in Jackson. Jackson made several spectacular catches. FFS, give credit where it's due.

And this idea that they "relied on turnovers" is just a joke. They created those turnovers. Again, give credit where it's due. The pats put consistent pressure on Rivers all day. The Chargers countered with numerous dump offs to their RBs (10 of 12 I believe) and Rivers out-ran the pressure a few times. Ignoring that and not giving Rivers credit means that YOU are the problem, not the defense. It means your expectations are out of whack and that you need to figure out what is truly realistic.

Impressive game but they aren't #1 that's based on yards which is bogus.

Hold off on starting these stupid as **** threads until the game is over. My ******* gosh..

Stats are for losers...

Our defense seems to have a certain predictable method about it. When we are leading, our defense relaxes, trying to make sure that the opponent does not come back into the game quickly with big plays. On the other hand defenses like Ravens, Jets, etc. seem to become more aggresive, using the lead as a cushion to gamble more with blitzes etc.

I think its okay to do the first but we need to mix up the second too. Its almost as though we are broadcasting that if we score, we will relax and play on the back foot.

That's the way they do it, though.

They had #1 D and O by yards . . . but the worst ST in the league by miles.

Why do our DBs get worse? Butler, Meriweather, now McCourty. Last year we were calling him shutdown and now he is nowhere near that.

I will lower myself to answer this....because he just went up against Two WR's that are much BIGGER than he is and just as fast. B Marshall and V Jackson are Two of the best WR in the game.

They just faced two of the best WR's in the AFC, Marshall and Jackson, in the latter case they took away Gates out of the game..

The reality is that you cannot shut everything down...
