Troy Brown just slammed Reche Caldwell twice

I saw a lot of WR, but Reche is clearly the worst. He doesnt deserve to wear this uniform again never and ever

Just because you only started following the Pats in 20056 doesn't mean that Caldwell has been the worst WR on this team.

Kelley Washington, Sam Aiken, Doug Gabriel, Bert Emmanuel, Bethel Johnson, Kelvin Kight, J.J. Stokes, Torrance Small. And that is just a few..from the Belichick era. We could go back into the Bledsoe era and get more. Or into the pre-salary cap era to get some really horrible ones.

I hated that guy since that wide open dropped pass in the AFCCG against the Colts in 06 which we could've led and won the game!

that will be my only memory of that guy....cost the team a trip to the super bowl which they would have likely won (seriously brady vs grossman)

Brady fell the f*ck asleep on that play. Caldwell was waving his hands for 5 minutes until Brady saw him, rushed the throw and turned out to be a poor throw. Sure Caldwell should've caught it, but I don't think he would've scored because it wasn't a good throw.

*ROFLMAO* Another with revisionist history.

How could it have cost the Pats the game when they scored on the very next play on that SAME series???

Here is the link to the Play-by-play on NFL.com.

NFL Game Center: New England Patriots at Indianapolis Colts - 2006 Conference Championships

The drop occurred with 1:42 remaining in the 3rd quarter. The Pats scored with 1:35 remaining of the 3rd quarter on a Pass to Gaffney.

So, please explain this. It was beat to death back then and most sensible people realized that the drop had nothing to do with the loss.

I'd really like to hear how it cost them the game..

I can believe it. He dropped a sure TD that would have put the 2006 AFCCG out of reach. I've always maintained that we would have beat the crap out of the Bears in that SB.

He may be referring to the sideline pass where Caldwell was uncovered but dropped the ball.

Joey Galloway says hello.

He was the team's best receiver in 2006.

Fans tend to forget there would likely be no AFCCG loss but for his catch against the Bolts that tied the game, setting up that last FG for the win.

He happened to be the best of the re-treads for most of the season in 2006 before Gaffney showed up, and probably should not have been asked to play #1 WR at all.

And don't forget who Indy played for what will probably be Manning's one SB win. The Bears.

But it really wasn't all completely on Caldwell. I think that year BB got about all he could get out of the roster that season. It was remarkable they got to the title game.

Still, that AFCCG loss is even more galling to me than the Giants SB for the simple fact the SB against Chicago would have been a guaranteed win before kickoff, just as it was for Indy. Everyone here would have slept like a baby the night before.

With the Giants you at least knew there was the possibility for an upset.

That Bears-Indy SB is one of the most unremarkable title games played in any sport in at least 20 years.

Correct...I believe it was in the 4th quarter and according to the play-by-play link above, they settled for a FG instead of a TD.

I'm not a guy that usually holds grudges but I can't get over that drop. And now to know he didn't work hard makes me dislike him more. Brown or Branch had that ball 99 out of 100 times.

It seems I value Mr. Patriots opinion more than most.
