(1) The Patriots hold the rights to Branch
(2) Branch refuses to honor his contract
(3) The Patriots will NEVER let Branch walk without SIGNIFICANT compensation
(4) The Patriots WILL franchise Branch. They have the cap to do it and they will do it because they expect more than the Jets weak offer today.
(5) The Patriots are not backed up against the wall in the sense that they HAVE to trade him RIGHT now. They can do it next year.
(6) Joey Galloway held out to week 10, and the Seahawks got some dumb sucker (see Jerry Jones) to give them two first round picks.
(7) If Branch does hold out to week 10, that's Branch's fault, not BB's (contrary to the twisted "voice of reason" of Borges.
And (8) for those of you who need it PatsNut has a panic button for you. Get used to the fact that the Patriots are quite content to hold Branch hostage until they get good picks.
