Steve Feldman, the agent for Rodney Harrison, said the veteran safety will spend almost all of his offseason in the Foxboro area rehabbing with head trainer Jim Whalen and director of rehabilitation Joe Van Allen following November surgery to repair three torn knee ligaments.
That may not seem like a significant detail, but for more than a decade Harrison has returned to his Atlanta home to train. The fact that he’s willing to spend the long winter in Foxboro is a strong indication of how committed Harrison is to returning for the start of the 2006 season.
Harrison suffered three torn knee ligaments (ACL, MCL, PCL) against Pittsburgh Sept. 25. While the injury was severe and Harrison, 33, is on the back end of his career, the full expectation is that he will be ready to play by early next season, perhaps even for opening day. Feldman said it was “too early to tell†if Harrison would be ready for the start of training camp.

“I certainly wouldn’t count (Harrison) out at this point,†Belichick said on Sunday. “I definitely wouldn’t do that.â€
No matter what Harrison’s progress this offseason, the Pats figure to make a significant push for a veteran safety this spring.

Rodney

Sounds good to me. His presence is a must as well as the fact he will provide depth and quality.

More than that, he will bring the fear.

Receivers will keep one eye out when they get in to the secondary. They know that if they catch the ball, they are gonna get one almighty hit. They tread a bit softer in there.

Whereas this year, not only were QBs not afraid to launch it against our secondary, the receivers weren't afraid to be brazen.

Bring the fear Rodney, bring the fear!

There was an article in Patriot Football Weekly saying the sam thing. His doctor said that there should be no reason that he can't come back. The only questions that remains is when.

I have a feeeling that he will either start the season or be playing before game 5.

Even though Rodney only came on board in 03. It wasn't
much fun watching our defense without him. Will be nice to
have Tedy all year too. When they were out, it just wasn't
the same...missed their attitude as much as their ability...

You don't know what you've got until it's gone. Damn, Rodney, we missed you - can't wait to get that hammer back in the secondary.

Agree! Rodney hits the field, be it practice or game, with a no holds, all out attitude that is infectious to his teammates. Get back soon Rodney, everyone missed you!!!! :rocker:

yup

We are all praying for you Rodney---get well soon!

Strangely enough, we wouldn't have gone any further in the playoffs with Rodney in there, since our D played excellent. Still, we all know everything's better with Harrison in there.
