Merryweather to Pro Bowl?

I find it hard to believe that a player that can't follow instructions from the coaches, continues to "do his own thing", missed three games for disciplinary reasons, has openly admitted that he gets a thrill from inflicting helmet hits on opposing players and has not seemed to improve in the last two seasons, has been elected to the Pro Bowl. Evidently all you need to do is watch the highlight shows on ESPN in order to garner enough information to vote for a player. Come on, there must be a more deserving player out there. Any ideas?

It has been speculated that Logan Mankins/Revis selections was an effort by the players to send a message to the league that the players support holdouts, even though neither is having a probowl season. Maybe Merriweather and James Harrison got lots of player support to send a message to Goodell they don't like the new emphasis on helmet to helmet contact.
