The NFL Network had cameras at the AFC's Pro Bowl practice today, with a microphone wired to Chad Johnson. My only regret is that I didn't have all day to sit there and watch it. I did catch this part, though, where Chad Johnson lets John Lynch in on his plans for celebrating a Pro Bowl touchdown.

Here's Chad's one-man conversation on the way back to the huddle:

"I almost broke that thing down. I almost started dancin' ... but I don't wanna show my celebration too early. Cuz I plan to take -- I plan to strip. I'm takin' it all off."

Because if nobody's watching, surely it doesn't matter what he gets up to, does it?

It is amusing that this comes a matter of days after both Carson Palmer and the Bengals president call on the team to clean up their despicable act.

Nobody does really. It gets horrible ratings. None of the networks wanted it, but in the new television contract, the NFL forced whoever airs the SB to broadcast the Pro Bowl a week later.

I'll tune in this year just to watch the Patriot coaches on the sidelines.

True enough, and compared to a lot of his teammates, most of Chad's antics are completely harmless. Often tiresome, but mostly harmless. I quite liked the Ocho Cincho stunt.

IF he actually did it it would be a genius move, it would make EVERY sports highlight reel for the year and increase his popularity even more thus ensuring his return to the Pro Bowl again and again for the remainder of his career.
Think about it this way, just suggesting he MIGHT do it is already enough to have him mentioned in a Patriots messageboard.

Belichick likes Chad Johnson. Remember the "smack talk" before the Bengals game? Chad is a great entertainer. I don't see him as a jerk, because he does 99.9% of his stuff as a joke. TO....now there's a jerk. He does it to get himself attention. Chad sees himself as an entertainer.

I had no idea Vince Young was at the pro bowl...? I guess he replaced Rivers, but I never heard it announced.

I think Chad Johnson is great for the NFL. He cares about winning and I've never seen him be a bad teammate. Just because he has fun doesn't make him a jerk. He is my favorite non-Patriots player. In fact, I probably like him more than some of our guys.
