Kevin Seifert, of the Star Tribune, reports the New England Patriots will work out free agent QB J.T. O'Sullivan (Vikings).

For what it's worth, he's been a highly sought-after backup the last five years. I remember in the Mike McKenzie trade from GB to NO, The Packers demanded the Saints throw in O'Sullivan. It was actually a deal-breaker if NO refused.

He played in Europe so Box should have some info on him. I watched him play in the NFLE Championship a couple of years ago......seemed competent if unspectacular. Thought his passes weren't accurate but has fairly strong arm. Tough and gritty, though, stood in the pocket and took hits to make the pass. Can scramble some.

Yes, very curious move. Maybe just for future reference? Doesn't look like he's done anything at the pro level, but the guy sure tore things up in college -- 96 touchdowns!

Might be a good 'scout' team QB considering he's been with the Vikes and Packers.............not sure what move they'd have to make to add him to the roster though????

If I had any NFLE notes on him they've been deleted...Yes, I see I remembered correctly that he had been sentenced to life behind Lord Favre, poor kid.

I see this as no more than Pioli building the shadow roster.

That might be it..but why a QB?? Take a look see of a QB with a few years exp?? Wondering if they are thinking of a deal or?? Just curious...but again..u may be right with that..a shadow roster player. NEVER have enough of those..

More than likely this a rolodex update. I see no reason to have someone of his limited experience/success on the 53. Let's hope that LBs and WRs are next in line.
