Are you kidding me? He inherited an arsenal of talent and still chokes in the big games. Because ND is the most overhyped team in the NCAA, a national title was possible since they were overrated in the polls. First big game, ND gets BLOWN OUT at home by Michigan, then almost loses to a relatively weak MSU team. USC will blow these clowns out and ND will lose their bowl game once again. Willingham did a better job than Tummy Tuck so far.

Arsenal of Talent?

Blech. No Way. This team stinks. And that's why I wish we would stop calling it the JV team. Because if this is our future, then it doesn't look bright for the Pats.

The "hype" is too much; I think college football is trying to harness the wagon to Notre Dame for money reasons. Charlie improved ratings astronomically last year on NBC, and gave ABC justification for creating primetime network Saturday night football. Now if they really want to put a team on Saturday Night Football, how about Auburn? There's a real program...

You hit it Pony. It's all about money with Notre Dame...and hype generates money.

Credit the team for a great comeback. But speaking as an alum of Michigan State, it was only MSU that they beat.

Until the NCAA implements a true playoff system, every championship game is just a "hype" match.

I have no problem with ND. I think they have good talents, a very good coach and a rich history. But what sicken me is the hype machine surrounding it. ESPN could spend 40 minutes talking about ND and how it's such a powerhouse, and they could spend 2 minutes talking about Auburn and West Virginia and Florida COMBINED.

Auburn is ranked #2 in the nation and you rarely hear anything about them. That's my main problem with college football. The championship is a joke, it's nothing but a glorified beauty pageant. They added a 5th BCS game hoping to clear the confusion but we all know it's nothing but the money.

Not only ND, but Ohio State is much more overrated and over-hyped. There are 4 teams maybe 5 from the SEC alone that could handle the supposed #1 team in the nation

Arsenal of talent? Hardly. But wait till his recruiting class finally comes in.

Indeed. I take it you are a Gators fan?

I don't have that big of a problem with OSU, because to tell you the truth I don't know them enough to make a judgment. I did watch the OSU-PSU game yesterday and I was not impressed with OSU's play. But when it comes to hype I don't believe anybody can outdo ND.

Every kid ND is playing with is a Willingham recruit. Yes, he's got an arsenal of talent, but Tummy Tuck can't seem to win the big one.

Yes i know they are Willingham talent. Hence why they are overrated. Wait till Charlie gets his own players in there.

The experts estimate that if will take a college coach about 5 years to get his team into the talent pool that he is seeking. When you see CW doing well, he is so behind the programs that have had a solid coach for years. Right now, CW is coaching someone elses team and doing a good job with what he has. We will start to see a change next year for the better as the plan comes together.

This is pure foolishness. There is a reason why Willingham was sacked. He couldnt get his recruits to win either. There was no load of talent. Get some class and respect when it comes to Coach Weiss.

So true, so true. The games have scores and wins and losses but the NC is as big a joke as any other SUBJECTIVELY JUDGED "sport" like figure skating and gymnastics. It's a crock.

Jacky--
You can't blame Weis, and the players for all the hype, the don't "overrate" themselves, they just go out and play games. It's the media money machine that hypes. No reason to hate the guys sweating on the field for it.

It also think calling Charlie "Tummy-Tuck" is pretty low. :nono: The guy had a botched Gastric bypass that nearly killed him. Grow up and show some respect to a guy that helped bring 3 Super Bowl Titles to New England.

Well said. Charlie is genuinely a great guy. The story from last year, the one about the dying kid and his last wish, only continue to show us what a great human being he is.

Meh. I liked Charlie better in NE when BB put him in his place and banned him from talking to the media.

But whatever. We killed ND, I was there for it, and all is good because we're 4-0, and MSU and "hero" Drew Stanton lost.

Cool.
