I was flipping through the channels one night and ran across this show at the beginning of a marathon. I watched it all... but I've also been known to stare at shiny objects for extended periods of time unless someone snaps their fingers in front of my face...
it's definitely an interesting concept - and it also gives you more of an appreciation for the difference between a professional athlete (in any sport) and an ordinary "athletic" person.
The episodes I recall featured lots of Kevin Greene, Herschel Walker, Steve Goldberg, Clyde Drexler, and even Morton Andersen. I don't recall who else was on the show.
The only real disappointment in it for me seemed to be a lack of actual physical football... that is until the Joe's had to get past both Kevin Greene and Steve Goldberg. Goldberg even wore an 'X' as his number a la The Longest Yard. Those two were POUNDING people.
They also had an MLB pitcher (sorry, don't follow baseball - don't recall his name - played for the Dbacks I believe) who the Joes had to rush and drag off the mound. I think he pretty much destroyed all comers. He was TOUGH.
I saw on Spikes website that Randy Couture and Roy Jones Jr. are Pro's for this season. I think I'll stay on the couch... I don't even want to hold RJJ's heavy bag.
