A muted TV & background music are my friends while watching football.

I just simply unplug the center channel on my home theater since the High Def broadcasts Dolby 5.1 mix has the play by play mixed to the center speaker. All you are left with is the crowd noise and music/sound effects that are used.

If anyone has a problem with Madden calling games, just watch Bryant Gumball kill ratings on the NFL network games.............after that train-wreck you will be humping the TV with happiness when you hear Madden!

I think they canned Gumball for this season, so we won't have the pleasure of repeating this image all season long.

That's a great idea. I'm still stuck in stereo right now, but I'll definately keep that in mind since I've always thought they should just have a "crowd noise" option.
