OT: Faulk's replacement play's for Notre Dame

I really like this Darius Walker kid from Notre Dame. Reminds me a lot of Kevin Faulk. A good runner AND receiver.

Faulk has decent speed. He was a hell of a college player. He could break runs in a way that I have never seen Walker do.

I think Kevin Falk plays a nice role for the Patriots, but the chances of adding a back who is younger, more durable, possibly faster is worth looking into. Yes, Kevin can break the occasional punt return, but his fumbles have been devastating (Pittsburgh 2 years ago and Denver last year)...he may be far from done, but he is also far from being the perfect scat back (Dave Megget set that standard).
I'd love to see him stick around, but would like his replacement waiting in close proximity.

That's my point, Faulk is still a very solid back with an important role, but like Dillon, he is no young pup. In 2008, I'd like to see Maroney-Walker in the Dillon-Faulk role circa 2004. By then, both Dillon & Faulk may be gone, both will be close to 35yo.

Actually, WhatThe Faulk's replacement plays for the Vikings. His name is Mewelde Moore, whom the Pats should have drafted in '04, instead of Dexter Reid. Moore is also from LA (Tulane), is a good runner and receiver, can return kicks, and is smart. I wonder what his FA status is.

P.S.: I hope he does none of those things on Monday.

Now I like Moore. I think he is a good player. Belichick talked about how he interviewed him before the draft and he thought he was a Faulk clone. He said they have similar playing styles, look the same, and talk the same.

I would love to have him, but I think Minnesota realizes how good he is.

i dont think Walker would be a great replacement. if somehow a guy like Garrett Wolfe fell..he could be..leading rusher last 2 seasons but small school i believe but we wont take a RB in top 3 rounds

I think we will replace one of the rb's next year. And, the other in
08. Would be easier to break in one rookie instead of two. With
Dillon showing he's still got some thread on the tire and Maroney.
I think K.Faulk is on dangerous ground next year. He has a high
cap nr. And, isn't really getting on the field too much.

Another back
who might be able to fill that role is Lorenzo Booker - Fla St.
He doesn't run much between the tackles. But, he's dangerous in the
open field. FSU has had a terrible OL the last couple of years. I
don't know if Booker is tough enough to play in the NFL. But, he
is dangerous. I remember a big play he made against PSU's outstanding
defense last year in the Orange Bowl. He took a simple dump-off about
60 yds. Something like players like; Maroney,A.Pittman and M.Hart were
unable to do against that defense last year.
