OT: Bad MNF game beat MLB ALCS game in ratings last night

Plus, football is the absolute best sport to watch on TV - blows every other sport away. I usually prefer to watch baseball, hockey and basketball in person when I can.

Before I decided to boycott MLB altogether (in 2002 when they came within hours of another strike), I actually used to enjoy going to games once in a while. It's kinda fun in person, but on TV, forget it.

Basketball is different. I went to a Milwaukee Bucks game in college and it was really fun. Granted, some people say the NBA isn't really basketball because it's all about scoring, but I had a good time. The game I was at, the lead went back and forth like nobody's business. Every year I say I'm going to go back and see another one, but it hasn't happened yet. On TV, meh, I won't really watch a game, but if the Bucks are on I'll check in now and then.

You could say the same thing about NASCAR. And there is little doubt NASCAR sucks monkey balls.

When people ask me if I watch NASCAR, I say, "No, I prefer to watch sports."

Fox's telecast of the San Francisco Giants' series-clinching 3-1 win over the Texas Rangers drew a 10.6 overnight rating, according to Dan Bell of Fox. That's 23% higher than the 8.6 rating for Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts' 30-17 victory against the Houston Texans on ESPN.

However, World Series has obvious advantage being on broadcast while ESPN is cable.
