One thing I admire about the XFL is that at least they didn't play the pretend game, standing around acting pious, and go running around squealing like piglets over a missing nipple.

I believe what Mr. Front Seven is saying is that the XFL didn't pussyfoot around the subject, and embraced the Macho Man (heh heh ) nature of professional (debatable) football. Hitting was actually embraced!

I really enjoyed the XFL and I think it is a shame that it is gone. It had a chance to be something special.

Of course the WWF over the top type stuff was stupid, but most of the rest was great.

It had something like 5 times the ratings of the WNBA in the first season but they were just too impatient.

It could have been a great alternative to the No Fun League.
