If Adam hired a new agent before free agency... He would have signed with the Vikings, its close to his home and its in a dome.. But his old agent did not do him justice, when his new agent got a deal done in 2 days... Would have stomached it better if he went to the Vikings.. But he is a colt and its still tough to swallow..

I have more interested in how many sh!ts you take a day than whether Vinatieri's agent got him to a city close to home.

I believe Adam's home is in Fl now.

No, I'm Vinatieried out. I probably just need 24 hours away from the board to let everyone work it out of their systems.

I agree...

Adam was gone

I'm now totally convinced that Adam was gone the moment FA started. He wanted to go to a warm weather team or a dome team. If we had offerd him $500k per year MORE than a team in warm weather or dome, he might have stayed. A match would not have done it for us.

Having back problems for years, I can tell you that it's much better being in warm weather and it's much worst when the weather is cold.

In spite of that, I still won't wish Adam good luck as long as he is wearing a Colts uniform.

That's why all this consternation mystifies me. Did I know for sure he was gone ? Of course not. The Patriots surprise us behind the scenes all the time. But I would have been very, very surprised if he had returned so I wasn't at all shocked other than his going to the Dolts over the Packers.

Shrug.

Last word: His Canton Bust will be as a Patriot, and thats fine by me. Thanks for the memories AV, we love you man.

NFL players don't go in for teams.

You need to do what is best for BelickickFan. Just do it. Actually take your time. All the time you need. :D

I know what I need to do . . . treat Vinatieri threads as Red Sox threads and just ignore them. Of course, that leaves about 10% of the threads as readable for the rest of the day :)

How much do you want to bet that this isn't the last Adam V thread? That's like saying, that's my last hiccup or something.

We'll never know if Adam would have stayed for $500K per year more because we actually offered him at least $7.5M less. An NFL contract isn't worth the paper it's written on from an employees standpoint. That is why it is all about the bonus money. If Adam tore a hammy in TC, the Pats could decide to cut him the day before this season commenced with no cap consequence. We effectively offered him nothing, while the Colts actually offered to make him the highest paid kicker in the league for at least the next 3 years.

The real rub is doing it the Colts way will cost them less on the cap this season than what the Patroits were apparently prepared to do - by almost half. And considering the Colts operated with a PK who couldn't handle KO's on their cap last year at $2.8M, plus they tied up a roster spot on and paid for a KO specialist, this is a great deal for the Colts.

Courtesy of your NE Patriots. Just sayin'....

I was thinking that I feel bad for whomever kicks for the Patriots this season....unless it's Vanderjerk (I'll puke if they sign him). Anyway, being an NLF kicker is a pressure job, but being the kicker that replaces Adam? Killer pressure.

shame he wont be kicking any game winning FG's in ths super bowl :( for a few years becuse of the Colts QB

I thought it might help if we tried a more humorous approach to discussing this topic. So I thought I'd start a list and let others add to it.

( don't just say "Because he's an idiot.)

So here goes:

10. Polian told him, "Hey, you can't do any worse than the guy we had LAST year." :D

9. A time-traveller from the future told him in a 2014 lawn mower accident he will lose all but three of his fingers, so didn't want any more rings than he could wear.
