Merged: Is BB quitting on season/fans?

Re: Is BB giving up on this season?

The problem here is we would have gotten compensation for Moss leaving ANYWAY. For a player of his calibre, we likely would have got a 3rd round comp pick... so, we basically gave Moss away to move up a couple spots in the 3rd round? It doesn't make any sense. This ONLY makes sense if we A. Make another move or B. BB couldn't stand Moss's antics anymore. If it's B, I will be EXTREMELY dissappointed in BB. Face it, all elite WRs come with baggage, it's their nature.

I think it's more like a 5th round pick. And it can't be traded, no?

For what must be the sixth or seventh time:

The best-case compensatory pick would be a fifth-round pick in 2012.

I just hate Kraft. Simply as that. Show the ******* money . WTF are they doing?

Spot on! If we only had Ralph Wilson as our owner we'd have been to the SB 4x in a row!

Correct on both counts (b/c of Moss's NFL longevity, max 5th rounder, in 2012, and untradeable).

Perhaps we need a thread stating this in bold in the title. The misinformation running around in other threads is giving me a headache!

Hernandez stardom helped it along IMO although he can't come close to stretching the field like 81

I wonder if Bill is thinking that reliance on the deep ball makes the team vulnerable to a good pass rush (especially after the Game That Shall Not Be Named. Stretching the field is fine if you always have time for that to develop. Then again, not having the threat of the deep ball means that teams do not have to respect that and can take away the intermediate stuff more easily...

I guess we'll see how things play out starting on 10/17.

If anyone quit on this team and these fans, it's Moss. The threat of an unhappy and increasingly disengaged Moss down the stretch this season far outweighed the iceberg's chance in hell he would actually put his self absorbed act aside and do whatever it took to will this team to win. HE ASKED TO BE TRADED AFTER A WEEK ONE WIN HE RUINED WITH HIS POSTGAME IT'S ALL ABOUT ME MANIFESTO. His sole goal in life is to market Randy Moss. He likes to win, but at the end of the day it's all about what's in it for him. He'd love to win a ring, who wouldn't, but at the end of the day it's all about straight cash homie...

BINGO!
i am disappointed to see him go, but I trust BB implicitly. I've got 2 words for you: Ty Law. and maybe Asante Samuel or Drew Bledsoe

Richard Seymour - who was not even playing for the Raiders a few weeks ago

Has BB ever given anyone the impression that he is a quitter? Be real, people. Moss must have started being disruptive - and we was what disruptive does to team (AD anyone?). They are getting whatever value they can for someone who does not want to be here and will not be here next year. Is the team worse off offernsively? Right now, yes. I would think that the Pats coaching staff will try very hard to win games though.

And, for those of you who had SB aspirations. Sure, that would be nice.....but how realistic was that with this defense? Could it happen? Yes...I mean, 2001 happened. But lets be real - this defense is young...learning....and still bad.
