It was a great game. If Brady had simply air mailed the last pass into the stands I would have no problem with what transpired. Both teams played well and Carolina made fewer mistakes.
Unfortunately, the refs straight blew the call at the end of the game. In my mind there is one play left, and we will never know what would have happened. It comes as a slap in the face when a few weeks back, in over time, the league tells us the rules are the rules. This week, we get some blow hard telling us the contact began simultaneously with the pick, which anyone with a tv can tell you is bogus. The refs run off the field, the chubby one seems to say "don't!" As Brady starts ripping into them (just before they get even with the camera), and visibly changes his face and looks to the ground. They know they blew it. The league does too, otherwise they wouldn't have taken so long to release a controlled statement ( which doesn't stand up to common sense, but that's besides the point.)
Sorry about the rant. Back to the point. Two goods teams played a very good football game last night. Unfortunately, the last play and the league officials ineptitude have overshadowed a great performance by the Panthers. It isn't right, but it is impossible to ignore (from this end anyway).
