Some of the rules these pro leagues employ are borderline ******ed. Like the NFL fining players for their socks sagging. Anyhow, good for Francona. Watson needs to get a life. What's wrong with what Francona wears?

WATSON'S VISIT IRKS FRANCONA

By GEORGE KING
August 30, 2007 -- Tired of repeated warnings falling on deaf ears, The Post has learned Bob Watson entered the Red Sox dugout during last night's game to talk to Terry Francona about not wearing a uniform jersey while managing. Francona opts for a red pullover, which is sanctioned by MLB properties.

Upon seeing baseball's top cop, who was ushered into the dugout by an MLB resident security agent, Francona snapped at Watson.

"Get out of the dugout during the game," Francona firmly told Watson, who left.

Watson, a vice president of on-field operations, has warned and fined coaches and managers for wearing a pullover instead of a jersey. He recently docked Yankees hitting coach Kevin Long $1,000 for not wearing a jersey.

Tito looks sharp in the pullover* and the fact that its red makes it easy for the umps to spot him if he tries to lurk in the runway after getting ejected.

*not that I pay any attention to that sort of thing. My stance is narrow.

I agree 100%. Some of the rules of baseball can be really retarted.

He wears the top because he has a circulation disorder in his legs, and that helps keep him warm.. it is coincidental that Bob Watson would try to disrupt the flow of things in Yankee Stadium??? Who cares, maybe he could get an oversized dirty one, a la BB, and keep them satisfied.
