Jeesh, so many that we discussed at length that I'm sure I've already forgotten some:

S Josh Gattis
S Eric Frampton
WR David Ball
T Mike Otto
TE Clark Harris
TE Joe Newton
CB AJ Davis
WR David Clowney
QB Matt Moore
RB Antonio Pittman
LB Marvin Mitchell
RB Nate Ilaoa
And so on....

It seems unusual to me to see so many first day picks getting cut,or am I wrong? buster davisbeing another.

...47 players selected at last April's draft were released prior to Saturday's deadline when teams had to be down to the opening-day 53-man roster limit. Then two more players selected this past April - Dallas CB Alan Ball and Arizona TE Ben Patrick, a pair of 7th rounders - were released after making their team's initial 53-man roster. Meanwhile, another 13 rookie draftees were placed on a reserve list. In fact, the number of draft picks released prior to the deadline this year is relatively high. Last year, for example, a total o 40 picks were waived prior to opening way, while, an average of only around 35 picks were released prior to the establishment of season-opening rosters in the years 2000 through 2005.

Sure makes trading 4 picks for vets and 2008 picks look better and better....

Another one who got cut who intrigues me is Jason Snelling, formerly of Virginia and the Falcons. I didn't have him on my list of draftees, since we typically don't use a fullback, but I caught him this preseason, and he looked great in short yardage situations and displayed great hands out of the backfield. I'd love to see us pick him up, and stash him on IR or something. He could take Heath Evans role on the roster.
