Does Belichick deserve to win 'Coach of the Year' Honors?

2009 is one. Couldn't hang with the big boys.

I would probably throw 2015 in there as well.... Belichick lost 5 of his last 8 games that year after starting 10-0 in the regular season. Some of his coaching decisions arguably contributed to those losses

2002 was worse, imo.

I suspect BB would agree. I doubt he was very proud of our inability to stop the run that year.

But it speaks to how amazing he is that a year that we would have been somewhat happy with anytime prior to his arrival is considered such a bad year.

I think BB is a given being coach of the year every year since he gets his team in the playoffs every year and still a top 3 team every single year. But I agree with some of the others, I think Jack Del Rio should get it other than BB. He got a winning season after spending two seasons there and dethroned the Donkeys.

Adam Gase is the COTY in my estimation. Remember, Gase took over a team that had two HCs last season and was in chaos.

He's actually created stability, gotten the most so far out of two QBs, and has the Dolphins in the playoff picture with two games to go. This is a team that hasn't reached the playoffs since 2008.

Very impressive for a rookie coach. In the meantime, his former team is going to miss the playoffs and struggles to even score a TD at home.

If only for the Collins Shear Van Noys McClellin situation, yes. Also, the 4 game vacation.

I don't think any coach could have traded Collins mid season and turned it into a positive, but he did.
