Re: Do you see Pats ever having a 49'rs type slide ?

yea, it will happen....

after we lose the best QB in NFL history (retires)...

after we lose the best coach in NFL history (retires)...

after we lose one of the best personnel men in the NFL (retires)...

after Bob Kraft leaves (and passes the reigns to janathan)...

we wont be the Patriots of today, the patriots of this decade, where we go deep into the playoffs and contend for a SB every year....

but we will never go as far down as the 9ers, and defenetely not as fast, b/c i think Kraft will pass on the ownership of the team to someone responsible enough to hire the next great coach, the next great personnel man, and draft the next great QB....

As the old saying goes ... "What goes up must come down" - The Patriots are not an exception no matter who runs or owns the team.

Replacing Bruschi,Harrison,Vrabel,Adalius Thomas and Kevin Faulk ect: who will be gone next season or within a few years from now will eventually bring this team down or near to a mediocre one for a little while at least -

It WILL happen within the next 10 years and only TRUE Patriots fans can handle that and hold out till the team rises again...I did in the early 90s and will still be here when it happens down the road shortly.

I can see this team with a 6-10 7-9 or 8-8 record within the next 5 years in order for the young guys here to fully mature and blend together when the old vets are gone - Double digit wins in a 16 game season won't be as easy the next decade IMO.
