The Colts just got their Tuck Rule 2006. Let's see if the outcome is the same as Pats-Raiders.

[non-interception call by Polamalu}

It's uncannily similar, in field position, eventual touchdown, etc.

This isn't a tuck rule. The tuck rule is an actual rule.

This is just crap.

The only lack of similarity is that the tuck rule was called correctly according to the rule book. This overrule was total complete bull****. What took the official so long to make the call? Looking for a way to bail out the Colts, of course. I bet if you time that review, it went WAY over the legally alloted time.

I'm no expert, but it may be a rule that he had to make a football move AFTER getting his knee up off the ground.

He rolled around at least two, maybe three times. That is at least FOUR knee contacts and releases while he is in possession.

don't compare it to a the tuck rule, this was just blatant cheating by the refs.

Maybe this will be the Colts tuck rule. After all, the tuck rule gave the Pats a chance to keep winning. This overturned call will give the Dolts a chance to keep choking.

The Tuck Rule Was A Rule!!!! This Is Not. It Was Just Cheating By The Refs.

Steelers won the game so this situation will be quickly forgotten. That said I would like a better understanding of what constitutes full possestion on an interceptions. Maybe when of you rules scholars can clarify that for me.

The rule is that you need to maintain full posession when you go to the ground, if the ball comes lose no INT. If he had been touched while down, ironically, I believe that would have ended the play and he would have had the INT. Apparently since the play was still ongoing and his knee was still down his bobble in trying to get up counted as not maintaining posession when down. I am sure Mike Perreira on NFL Network will review this on Wednesday. I bet he will say that by rule in order to prevent the need for judgement calls by refs that the player must maintain psoession 100% of the time he is down if the play is still live.

I won't buy their explanation.

If it was just ONE call then okay, but what about the PI last night?

What about the non-PI that Colts avoided?

There were several other questionable activities by the refs.

The non PI call late in Q4 today looked very similar to the PI call last night....

I felt like I needed a shower after the first half DO-OVER they called. Fourth and one and they miss the slight flinch by Alan Faneca(like they missed it on the Broncos 1st half field goal), but then decide to ignore the encroachment on the Colts. It was the best outcome in all fairness, but didn't conform to any NFL rules I know of. These guys were making it up on the fly, seemingly to keep the Colts in the game.
