Can we now recognize Ninkovich as our MVP or atleast DPOTY?

From worst starter to DPOTY. Wonder where he'll be next week.

Ninko has been a solid starter, a great surprise, but he's not even one of the best 5 defensive players on his team.

There's nothing wrong with being a solid starter. He doesn't have to be a DPOTY candidate to do a good job here.

Definitely the most improved. A man of many "ah-ha" moments--

Defensive MVP's
1. Wilfork - Best nose tackle in the league and is often used all over the line to eliminate the other team’s strengths on the line.
2. Mayo - Living up to the hype, and has consistently tackled as well as any LB in the league. He is on pace for 190+.
3. Chung - Prior to missing the Viking game to injury Chung was the most consistent member of the secondary, he brings a lot of energy and an added toughness to our team when playing in the box.
4. McCourty - As of now he may be the defensive rookie of the year. He has started since day one at a position of GREAT need and has seemed to get better every week. He looks like he will be a special player.

5. I like everyone’s choice of Ninkovich but I think it is a tie between him, Brandon Spikes, and Jermaine Cunningham. They have all played positions of uncertainty and played at a very high level. It is their ability to play together as a unit that has improved the defense week by week.

Ninko still has some trouble setting the edge against the run. BB took him and Deaderick out of the base against the Vikings after the first quarter because of the run problems. Again, he's a fine a starter, nothing wrong with that.

Awesome, weeks ago we had, "Ninko is the worst starter in the league." Now we have the polar opposite and equally as bad thread.

what he said... both points

He's more than just a slug that is biding time. He's played really well. He is, as I said in another post, one of those that you call a "football player". He seems to always be where he is supposed to be. I love that guy.

Bruschi hit the nail on the head with this kid. He was getting crushed early in the game, but got better once he stated doing a better job with his pre-snap reads and recognitions.

Nink just keeps improving. Period. What his ceiling is I don't know but he's doing a good job now!

1) Mayo
2) Wilfork
3) McCourty
4) Nincovich
5) Chung

are worthy of best defensive player thus far

In that EXACT order

I would put Chung ahead of Ninkovich, and I would also put Meriweather on that list as well.

I was a fan of Ninko when others were calling him STINKO!

He always hustles, gets good pressure on the QB.

He's slow though. At least on some of the plays I've seen him on.

He slows the game down, I think he compliments all the speed flying around the field.

I wonder if they'll let Ninko help narrate "America's Game the 2010 Patriots"

Not bad for the worst starter in the league.

List of players playing better than Ninko in our defense:

1)Mayo- Pro-Bowl season and who know maybe all-pro, he's a machine
2)Wilfork- Top 3 NT in league, 'nough said
3)Chung- Total Beast
4)McCourty- Maybe the second best defensive roockie in the league(after Suh, obviously).
5)BM- He isn't playing to his potential, but he's still a heck of a safety

I thought of putting Spikes and Cunningham in here, but I think Ninkovich is playing better.
So he's, MAYBE, our 6th best defensive player, right now. No where near our best defensive player.
