yeah,
21 in five seasons and counting.
since 2001, he's recorded more than any other QB in the league.
he's had 4 late comebacks (tied or behind) in the playoffs (3 in SBs, including 4 SB comeback drives in the fourth quarter).
the best comeback in terms of points, was the 21-point deficit (down 27-6 with 19 min left) in Chicago in '02...remember that last drive -- unreal! Snow Bowl might be the greatest, or the last game in '02 against Miami...nah, has to be scoring 10 in the last 3 minutes of SB-38...or the last drive in SB-36??
montana had 31 comebacks...not that he couldn't have had more, but he wasn't usually playing from behind. Elway/Marino both had around 50 over their careers, but they LOST as many close games as they won...Elway actually lost more close games than he won. To me, there are two John Elways, the one before he grew a chip on his shoulder and after. We could even go back to the original comeback kid, Bobby Layne, but even he blew his share of close games.
Under Tom's leadership, the Pats have only lost TWO GAMES BY SIX POINTS OR LESS (skins '03, miami '04)...unless you want to count the Miami game from last year which he sat out the last three quarters.
this is special folks. it's the reason they've dominated in the parity era.
we all realize it's a "team game." but it's just a damn fact that QB's have a lot to do with comebacks and winning/losing close games. This guy is quickly establishing himself as the greatest clutch player the game has ever seen.
