I think saban meant it like 'this is JUST why I did it'.

No, no.. Key word was noticed. He wasn't concerned, or worried about the beating his guy is taking, he wasn't surmising, or thinking his guy needed a break... he "just noticed that maybe" his guy getting beat on is not a positive thing.
