Thanks to the Patriots’ PR staff, here’s the complete transcript of Bill Belichick’s Q&A with the media this morning at Gillette Stadium:BB: It was a short night. We got back in the middle of the night and we were kind of running through the film this morning. It was certainly a satisfying win [...]

Can't believe the medai hasn't picked up on this. BB calling Witten their best player. Sure it's true but I wonder how T.O. woud take that? Besides, the media has declared T.O. their best player so that statement, again... true, flies in their face too.

good stuff. Thanks, Chris. Clicked and bumped.

BB's press conf transcript - he sounds unhappy with the tackling

http://allthingsbillbelichick.com/transcripts/2007/07oct15transcript.htm

The play where your defense could have tackled the runner for a safety in the endzone, was that a product of a good player breaking a tackle or was it a breakdown of fundamentals?

BB: Well, look, Barber is a great back. Julius Jones is a good back too. I'm not saying that, but we see good backs every week. Ronnie Brown. He's a good back too. That's what defensive players get paid to do. They get paid to tackle. Are there going to be missed tackles in the game? Sure, against backs like Ronnie Brown and Julius Jones and Marion Barber, some of the other guys we've seen this year, sure there's going to be missed tackles, but you want as few as possible. That's what defensive players get paid to do – tackle the guy with the ball. There's a few guys that have to cover, but other than that most plays it comes down to getting the guy with the ball on the ground. If you can't tackle, that's a problem on defense. I'm not saying there's going to be no missed tackles in the game, it's not like you can say there's going to be no missed blocks in the game. At this level, it's just not realistic, but you don't want to have very many. You want to have as many guys with the ball as possible so that if somebody does miss, there is somebody else there. Playing with good leverage and fundamentals that's part of it, but I mean honestly that play didn't hurt us nearly as much as the other two did. One was for 20-something, the other was for 18 or whatever it was. It almost went the length of the field, the bulk of the field, on two plays that missed tackles were a part of, poor force was a part of them, just poor defensive play, like I said, coaching, tackling, playing it – it factored into all of those. Those guys are good backs, but they're not the last good backs we're going to see. I'll tell you that right now. We'll see another real good one this week.

Listening to BB, we should be happy if we don't do worse than a 21-0 loss at Miami. Just scoring some points would be a victory of sorts!
