I like day 3 provided we could afford McCoy and day 2 (Simmons, Isabella, Hooker, Warring) is decent, but I think you gave up too much for Rosen personally.

Actually his contract is descending from roughly 12-10-10 next three years. We own him for three years. He's only 31 and 6 time All Pro. The Bucs are having CAP issues. Could we extend him? Could we rework his contract into a bonus? His contract is cheaper than Flowers and in line with Cox.
His contract hence means only 4th rounder. I think the Bucs bite or cut him. They lose no CAP if they do.

It’s this year that concerns me. Miguel has us with 15m spare so it’s very tight. Maybe the play would be for the Bucs to cut him and sign him to a one year incentive laden deal. Bear in mind you’d have Simmons in your scenario so we probably wouldn’t need a declining McCoy in 2020 and 2021.

Now I like McCoy but that is way too expensive. I am not even sure BB would pay him 7m for a year.

There is no rush with him anyway. The longer he is on the Bucs with those cap hits the more likely a release. With that contract I dont think the Bucs can ask for more than a pick swap or a late round pick (6/7) anyway.

The 2020 and 2021 bonuses go with him in a trade. It’s 13-12.5-12.9 the next three years.

actually I disagree, though I do agree we could have gotten to the same position WITHOUT moving up to 21.

But at any rate we obtain a FIRST rate back up with top 10 talent, and a year of NFL experience for what amounts to a third round pick. That is PLENTY of value.

As to the overall draft Toys comes up with, I'd be THRILLED. It has just about everything except the obvious OT pick. For my tastes you get 2 intriguing defensive line talents in Simmons and Fergeson. He adds one of my TE binkies in Warring. And then he ROCKS my world by trading for McCoy. Isabella is another binkie at WR and Higgins adds more size and experience to the WR roster. Plus we get younger with his safety pick. Everything else is just gravy, especially since I never heard of anyone else he drafted.

So I think you are nit picking just a bit. For me the talent added and traded for in his scenario would be fine WITHOUT getting Rosen. But adding Rosen would do a couple of things. First it gives us a back up who gives us a better chance at winning games than Brian Hoyer. We completely take for granted that Brady will always be there. But he's 42 and sh!t happens as we saw last season. He was able to play through that issue, but it affected his play. This year we might not be so lucky. Second, I'm sure having Rosen on the roster will light a competitive fire under Tom. That can NEVER be a bad thing for the team. Third we gain a couple of million in cap space by upgrading the position. All reasons to make that deal.

So of all the mock drafts I've seen thus far. THIS is the one I'll be dreaming will come true, as unlikely as it may seem to be. Because if it happens the Pats will have made a MAJOR upgrade to this team.

I love your mock for us.
Would keep us in the playoff picture for years.
Can we lobby for the Pats to have you replace Caserio?
I'm terrified they draft more Jordan Richards Calibur players with early picks.

I remember being upset when Bill took some guy named Devin McCourty. I gave up being disappointed in round 1 since.

In my Draft, Simmons will redshirt with the ACL. I look at McCoy to have versatility at DT or DE. Simon is a one year contract (plus option). Butler is a FA in 2020. Keointa Davis, Kamlu, Harris are all FA in 2020 (not that it matters at this point). Rivers looks like a bust. Wise has not been consistent and gets hurt a lot. Hightower is also injury prone.
Chances that some one will beat us to McCoy if he gets cut are 100%.
We have to trade him with a contract reconstruct of some sort. I am sure the Bucs would let us chat with his agent Relativity Sports.
