Mayo lands on his feet

Good look to him but all this does is makes it look an even more ridiculous hire in the first place, what head coach gets canned after a year and just gives up the game.

All that shows was he was the fraud who sweet talked Kraft and his heart was never in coaching, 99.99% of other coaches would have taken another job on a staff somewhere and tried to build their way back and have a coaching career.

Hopefully he will prove to be of greater value in that world than he was as a HC. He's a nice guy: fine, if you care about that sort of thing. Whether he will prove to be of actual, empirical worth in any job is a thing one can reasonably question, given the record.

I don’t begrudge him
It just shows how bad a coach he was. Usually when a HC gets fired they get another HC job, go back to DC or OC to another team or go into broadcasting. He never even held a true DC title. Probably could have got a LB coach somewhere but that would be embarrassing. He didn’t get a sniff. That’s telling

I don't really care for the guy after what he did to BB and later the Patriots organization week 18 of the 2024 season. That's something that carries on no matter what he does.

Strange. He could have coached LBs for brian flores, something. Usually when something like that happens it motivates people. He really did just manipulate his way into that job and when it didnt work he took his ball and ran home

Hopefully he can and will succeed.

Apparently he will be working with the total moron who thought the north star was constantly on the move.... forget her name....

I hope he does well. I have no ill will.

But, I had always found him to be a dedicated, smart player. Seemed like he knew the game & the plays. Was a ‘vet’ within his first season and a captain shortly thereafter. Yet he wasn’t coach material at all. Couldn’t manage the players ? The plays ? Not a ‘natural leader’ ?

As far as Vrabel is concerned, while I think he’s a better coach - I also think he is more plugged in. He had ‘his people’. Whereas Mayo only had the BB leftovers and had never created links to urger football people in the league…. that played a role imo.

You're 100% correct.
This is basically the job he had before he went into coaching.

There’s some deep irony in his next job being a place called “Fifth Down” considering I’m pretty sure he once got confused about how many downs there were.

"Jerod Mayo has resurfaced in the business world."

One of these days people will take this part of his life seriously when they stop writing about him being in "Business". At Optum he was in Healthcare, at Fifth Down Capital he's in financial services, or PE, take your pick. So whatever field he's in, he's likely there for Sales or Business Dev which was his title at Optum. In PE he might be either attracting companies looking for funding or in the fund raising for the fund itself. Either way, he can leverage the high profile that he has as from being in the NFL as this is his huge advantage. I hope it creates value for him and his firm and one day they may finally stop saying he's in "business" and when that happens, I'll know that he'll finally be getting the credit for this part of his life.

Can TMZ look into this relationship too…? She started working there a year ago.
