Saw this reported on PFT and felt a little excited inside. This means the next man up at DC is Flores, right? He looked pretty involved in the sideline last night, more so than I can recently recall. Could just be because I was paying more attention, IDK. Good news for us either way.

I hate saying great news on something like this because it's his livelihood and we're saying it's great that he didn't get a huge promotion with a huge raise..... Fortuitous for us might be the right expression. But I agree this makes me feel a lot more confident in next year's team knowing that the OC and DCs-in-waiting in Chad O'Shea and Brian Flores are likely sticking around. I wonder if one/both of them will not actually get the title, but are given a year to prove it / ease into the role with Belichick being more hands-on, like McDaniels in 2005 and Patricia in 2011?

It's great news for the Patriots, but also for Flores imo. He really needs to work as a DC 1st.
Pretty rare for a HC to be hired w/o having served as a DC,OC or HC. It puts them at a competitive disadvantage vs. pretty much every other HC.
Maybe he never would have accepted the job, anyway, just wanted to gain knowledge from the HC hiring process- which is not a bad idea.
Anyway,glad he's back. He's ready to replace Matty P.
