Possible Patriots Draft Target, WR Braxton Miller

Steve Balestrieri

Miller ran a 4.40 in the 40 as well as led all WRs in the all-important 3-Cone Drill with a superb time of 6.65. He also had the best times in the 20-yard Shuttle and the 60-yard Shuttle.

In first on a Braxton Miller thread

Drool.

But will he be there at the end of round 2 or do they have to move up to get him??? I agree he's the real deal and think the Pats would be the ideal team to utilize his skill set.....

Also:

Saw this guy several times and he is the real deal.

Yeah there's some really good WR prospects this year. Would be disappointing if we don't grab one in the 2nd round.

The scary thing is Miller's ceiling. He only started playing WR last season and was dominant in a few games. He's going to be a project, though, so I wouldn't expect much out of him in his rookie season (if the Pats do grab him). On top of him still learning the position, he'll have to learn one of the hardest offenses in the NFL to master and something that's completely different from what Meyer runs at Ohio State. But he should be a very nice toy for Brady going into years two and three of his career.

Not saying there won't be a decent WR at the end of round two but this is not a good WR year. Not at all.

Outside of DT and OT, this is really a piss poor draft as a whole. Not 2013 level bad, but still pretty poor. Put it this way: if there was ever a "good" year to not have a first rounder, it's this year.

And don't think Roger isn't paying attention.

Next time the Pats are found to be dominating with malice of forethought, the penalty will be a 1st round pick, but the year won't be determined until the concensus is that the draft is strong enough, and the Pats pick high enough that they will definately miss out on a good player.

The owners and Omissioner will make this determination and whether the Pats have to forfeit their 1st round pick will be announced 10 minutes before the draft starts.

Think the Pats came away relatively happy with that class

Collins in the 2nd
Ryan and Harmon in the 3rd

Unpossible!

Everyone knows Harmon was a major reach and a bust.

Oh wait!!!!!

Even if it's just Collins, the Pats came away a lot better than a lot of teams did in that draft. Look at the first round of that pile of crap. Yeesh.

Too bad Dobson got that mental block after his rookie season, Would be looking at 4 for 4 on their first 4 picks in that draft.

Miller would be an excellent add, but I'm worried about his shoulder taking all the hits.

It's not good for outside guys, but there's a good group of slot type receivers.

Name me some players that got drafted after Harmon that were worth taking over him. I'll wait.

I was about to say "I don't remember exactly who was behind Harmon but there had to be a lot of players that could have been taken above him right?"

My god that draft was awful. Ricky Wagner and Latavius Murray were the only two other players that you could argue above Harmon. Literally everyone else are depth player.
