I can confirm that TE Asante Cleveland has been promoted to the 53-man roster from the practice squad. @DougKyed with it first.

Can't say I'm surprised. Not with the lack of healthy WRs.

Here is the roster move to create a credible passing attack. At 6'5" 250 he is not a WR but very athletic TE who knows the system. So now there are actually 4 TEs on the 53, and I wonder if all will dress Sunday. Gronk, Williams and Cleveland would give a credible 3 TE set with some flexibility to pass if the defense goes heavy, and run if they go light. Not sure Chandler adds much here, unless Williams is too injured to play.

Are we going to see 3 or even 4 TE sets? One way to protect Brady and compensate for the dearth of WR's.

But note also that Williams now appears on the injury report with a knee issue.

Here's an article (from pre-season I think) on the use by the Pats of 4 TE sets:

Could be because of Williams being a question, could be that they feel like the best way to attack the broncos is middle of the field with TEs, could be they wanted another TE for blocking purposes to free Gronk up more to go out than staying in to help block.

Could very well be the case. That defense has been weak all season long when it comes to covering TEs.

I think Gronk will align as a WR sunday many times

Gonna be fun to watch, regardless. I've watched most of Denver's games this year, and to be candid, while I respect them, I don't see them as the big threat that others do.

It's true, that "On Any Given Sunday" anyone can beat anyone else, but even with their new and somewhat more mobile, unknown QB, they just don't scare me.

This game would have been a blow out if we were healthy on offense. The injuries will make it a closer game, but I just don't see Osweiler having success against our defense in the conditions that are being predicted for Sunday.

If he does, I will tip my hat to him. But I just don't see it right now.

I like the move it gives them another receiving option and more blocking. Sunday will be tough but they can figure it out.

So when D returns 2 INTs for TDs Josh gonna be crowned?

Thought Joseph Fauria might be the next move.. but Cleveland's time in the system is beneficial.

Will he suit up instead of Williams???

Interesting. Cleveland looked pretty good in the preseason, I was happy to know they had kept him on the practice squad. Could be an interesting tactic - Wade Phillips game plans for littler guys Amendola and Harper, but McDaniels hits him with Gronk, Chandler, and Cleveland (and Williams if healthy).
