Yeah right next to the Orlando Thunder - hooray

The Raiders should have been on the list.

There are some awful helmets on there, not sure if making that list is a good thing or not.

What he said ...... :yeahthat:

The Bengals and the old-school Bucs and Oilers--not to mention a ripoff of his own #3 pick? Come on, that's just weak in so many ways.

Give me the Bears, Browns and Giants, put the old-school Bils logo WAAAY higher, and I'd also like to see some combination of USC, Alabama and Michigan up there.

Edit: However, I do have to say that I agree with two of his top 4...you could argue that other classic and untouched designs like the ones I mentioned above belong up there, but those three (Steelers and Packers) are both fantastic picks. I'd have said the same thing about the Colts, but that was stolen from Baltimore, I wouldn't give Indy credit for that design.

A Buffalo and and a horseshoe (to name a couple) are cool helmets? Not getting it.

That's actually the Colts 4th helmet. They started with an all white helmet, went to a dark blue with white horseshoes at the very back of the helmet, where most teams put the numbers, then switched to a white helmet with the horseshoes in the same location and then went to the current configuration. All in the first 5 years in Baltmore. http://www.sportslogos.net/team.php?id=185

So the writer is wrong, but we already knew that, plus I don't care for how he has to bring up spygate.....

I like the old school Patriots Helmet better.

sdfan

Nah ... this one but with 3 Lombardi's on it would be way cool.

Can someone PhotoShop 3 Lombardis on the front?

Half the helmets he rates as great because they were terrible. But I do like the old Eagles, Redskins, Bucs, and Bills helmets. Along with the Barnstormers and Bengals helmets.

But that Oilers helmet was always ugly and stupid.

I still honestly believe we have the sharpest helmet/colors in the league, all bias aside.

They're just so perfect. Just look at Welker right there, look at him!

The famous Green Bay G logo did not appear on the helment until 1961: http://www.nationalchamps.net/Helmet_Project/nfcnorth.htm. Before that it still had the stripe. At some time in the past before that, the helmet was plain yellow.

Seems like the writer defines history as "during his lifetime."

i would have put our old helmet + Pat Patriot logo in the first 11 coolest

i like too the old Houston Oilers one

And, of course, for comparison, the "before" picture:

Now that just screams FAIL.

I actually dig the 1960's helmets.
