i see Redskins cashing in if they dont get Clements

touch question, im going with the pats for now

he plays CB in the NFL for the team with the biggest offer

In that case, scratch NE, cause BB ain't paying him if he wants "Ty Law money". I can see the Pillsbury Dough Boy in NY paying him, though. Skins, as mentioned above, is another intriguing possibility as is Indy who desire "all things Patriots".

Other. We'll Franchise and trade him so we can control where he goes (i.e. Not to Mangina).

Depends on what you mean by "Ty Law" money. I think Samuel wants a big payday... I think he's going to get it.

I don't necessarilly think that Samuel is of the mind of Deion Branch, and AV that it absolutely has to be the top dollar amount.

I think some players - like Derrick Mason - can recognize that some teams are a better match for them - and that $500k difference a year on a multi-million dollar contract might not mean as much as being comfortable on a team, knowing what to expect, how they will be used, and in the end, for a young player, how he may do with his NEXT contract as well.

Part of the problem that the Pats have is that while they don't pay top market dollar, no one knows what top market dollar currently is - including the Patriots. As such I think with their cap space they won't have a problem paying a lot - but they will surely not be the highest bidder.

And if Samuel likes it here - and I think he does - he's not necessarilly going to let the highest dollar amount make his decision for him.

I think the Patriots should franchise him and then try to work out a long term deal. Good solid corners, who can play well in the Patriots system, aren.t that easy to find. He shows a knack for the ball. With the extra cap space available next year, they should do whatever it takes to sign him long term. That or trade him to Green Bay.

Other team

He stays in new England, although his robust interception numbers will attract some bozo money, as usual (see Larry Brown, overpaid millions for interceptions in Cowboy win in Super Bowl).

I don't understand those who don't think Asante is a good corner. I mean he isn't Champ Bailey........but he is young and appears to be getting better with each year. So I think he is on the verge of becoming one of the top corners in the league. I think that he should be one of our biggest priorities keeping him. I mean we don't have the depth at corner and we need him. I really think he is on his way and I would hate to lose a top flight corner who could be entering there prime!

My guess is he will get a quick Pap Smear test and be Mangina'd.

He'll sign with the Pats. He is most comfortable with our system, which compensates for his shortcomings. With another team, too much will be expected of him. I believe the Pats will give a fair offer to him. Go Pats:rocker:

Pats will franchise. Having Koppen signed makes this possible. Franchise CB money is not too shabby

Only 1 vote for Chargers, 8 for Pats...

We are a bunch of homers!

PS I voted for Pats too

Pats, Ravens, Saints, and Bears

I voted the Pats. But if he doesn't stay, he'll be a Jet. No doubt about it. They have the cap room, Mangini has the familiarity with him, and they have the need.

Asante's a keeper. BB is willing to pay for top-notch talent, and there aren't many CBs as good as Asante, plus he might even get better.

OK, we are apparently still having problems with polls. My poll asked which four teams will be in the NFL's version of the final four. Then I read the posts and the post titles are about where Asante will play next year.

Ian...can you please see what's up with this? Tnx

Can't believe you left the Redskins off there! I see them giving him 12 million in signing bonus, one million for every INT!
