    OT: Lobstah vs Crab

I’ll take high quality, separated lump crab any day. It’s sweeter, more versatile, more forgiving a cook. Lobster vs. crab legs though, I take lobster 11 times out of 10. Crab’s not worth the effort.

Alamo's Predict The Score 2025 Alamo's Predict the Score Contest: Week 1 - NE vs LAS

Um, I had it right, I just accidentally slid the Patriots score from 13 to 23. Honest mistake

Patriots Pregame Thread 2025 Patriots @ Cryami - Early thoughts

Consistently losing to bad teams is the surest sign that you’re a bad team. What set 2023 on apart from the previous, post Brady years is that we started regularly losing to bad teams. Even in 2022, we won the games we were supposed to win. The Raiders might not be bad, but they’re not likely...

    Week 1 win meaning...

It’s a must win for a 2025 playoff berth. Otherwise, it’s fairly meaningless

Vrabel tells it like it is about the Pats drafting

This thread is all over the place, so my reply will be as well. The media narrative on Diggs since mid-2003 doesn’t match the numbers. He’s declined, but he’s produced like a low end WR1, not a guy who is washed. I also don’t buy the ACL hype, it’s 2025, were a solid two decades removed from...

    Week 1 win meaning...

I see 6 “should win” games on this schedule: Carolina, Cleveland, Tennessee, New Orleans, the Giants and the Jets at home. After that there are 5 “could win” games. Vegas is a could win game, along with Pittsburgh, Miami at home, at the Jets, Atlanta. The rest I consider likely losses. A bad...

Don’t stand. Two things people from the Boston area don’t do, dance or concerts, and stand at football games.

    Sports Illustrated NFL Power Rankings

#21 has been more or less a consensus. I’ve seen about a dozen power rankings and we seem to fall at 21 in nearly all of them. Wild to me that Dallas is suddenly so low. It’s amazing how Starker need your reaction is when one non-QB player is traded.

A "Last" look At 2026 Before We Start The Season

If all goes according to plan, Chaisson will demand a decent payday, but nowhere close to the top of the market. If the team is smart, Gonzo gets locket up long term before Trent McDuffie resets the market. Leaves us likely in a position to pick up some strategic reinforcements, but no big...

Vrabel tells it like it is about the Pats drafting

Washington is a close comparison. That offense outside of McLaurin was bad on paper. On paper, I would say that the Patriots improved more from 24-25 than Washington did from 23-24. My only problem with the comparison is that we do not now yet if Washington is a flash in the pan or an emerging...

Why would you draft 4 straight QBs?

    Not A Bad Roster

Drafts got bad starting in 2014, and really bad starting in 2017, but give the old regime credit for what they did in the mid rounds those years. Stork, Jackson, Mason, Flowers, Mitchell…all round 4 or later, all key contributors to the final three championships.

Looking back at the Matt Cassel trade in 09

The 6 seeded Ravens tore through Miami and Tennessee like soft butter. The ‘08 Pats would have done the same. But Pitt would have gotten the better of us in the AFCC game. Matt Cassel is still Matt Cassel.

    Each fanbase’s most hated player

Peppers confirms release was scheme related:

It’s good value in theory, yes, but, realistically, Belichick had been looking for these LB/S hybrids since, what, Tank Williams in 2008, and it never once amounted to any payoff on the field. I’m ready to move on from the experiment. We don’t need an entire roster of these guys.

Six Guards Entered Mini-camp Competing For Three Roster Spots

This may be true, but we were wrong. The 2024 line was terrible at 4/5 positions, not just LT (and the 5th guy, Onwenu, hasn’t been particularly good since 2022). I think what happened was that we were so thin at so many positions that IOL seemed a less urgent need at the time. Today we find...

Patriots Pregame Thread 2025 Raiders @ Patriots - Early thoughts

This is my key. I trust McD to scheme around Crosby (Vegas’ limited depth helps us here) so I am not terribly worried about the pass rush wrecking the game, but I worry about Bowers getting upf it end unscathed if Gonzo can’t play. I also view this game as being on the shortlist of difference...
