    Mac and the "It Factor"

That's what people don't get. They keep believing the NFL is just littered with these awful QBs and that the Patriots could do soooo much worse than Mac Jones. They can't. They can do slightly worse, but that's about it. There are few top tier quarterbacks, but the worst starters at the position...

    Mac and the "It Factor"

This game was the Mac special. Struggle to move the ball all game long, score 10 points off turnovers that set you up deep in opponent territory, throw a back breaking pick but put together one late drive when down two scores to give his defenders material to keep going for another week. We see...

The Media still HATES us even though we suck. Want Belichick gone bad.

The biggest knock on Brady was NFL teams not understanding why he was splitting time and being weary that something was wrong with him that they weren't seeing. I recall the Patriots.com guys saying they immediately felt the cognitive dissonance of the "not a strong arm" in Tom's first training...

And yet no one thought Fromm was draftable due to his athleticism. He was drafted because he won in college and was generally thought of as a tough player who didn't make boneheaded decisions. If he had Brady's arm he'd likely go two rounds higher at the very least.

Jake Fromm was drafted in the fifth round and he is shorter than Brady with a weaker arm and ran the 40 at over 5 seconds. Brady would obviously still be drafted in today's league.

PostGame Thread OFFICIAL POSTGAME THREAD: Patriots lose to Raiders 21-17

This is so funny. Down two scores and he's throwing the ball for 5 yards a pop racking up completions. History of Mac's career.

    BB’s Decision to Punt

How is it only a little better if you get it? The point is to try to win the game, there were 25 minutes left. The Colts just came back from a similar deficit in less time against the Rams last week. You need scores. If you don't get it you just give them about 25 extra yards of field position...

    BB’s Decision to Punt

Completely inexcusable. Quit on his team. Can't demand anything from players when he's punting the game away with 25 minutes to go. Don't care how confident he was in their ability to convert, you go for it. Maybe you get PI, maybe a Saint falls down, a lot can happen there. Just the worst punt...

    Tom Landry

A whole lot more leeway when the HC isn't the guy picking players. Payton was an offensive HC and the Saints offense ranked 4th in the league in EPA/Play in that timeframe. I think if Bill weren't the GM, the Patriots' defensive performance would buy him a lot more credit of late, but he puts...

If you were Kraft and this season doesn’t improve, do you move on from Bill after this season?

I get the pick if you're going to put him in Tavai's role, to play box safety I don't get it either.

If you were Kraft and this season doesn’t improve, do you move on from Bill after this season?

You have to be completely oblivious to believe this turn in the national conversation regarding Bill will have no impact to Robert. If consensus reaches "yeah, he has to do something" by the end of the season, odds increase that he'll do something. I think public perception is a huge deal in this.

Mac Not Happy With the Groceries

He went public sometimes. More often he was "a source close to Brady's camp".

Mac Not Happy With the Groceries

Why was that the closest and not 2006 with Caldwell, Gaffney, Troy Brown in his final year, Chad Jackson, the ghost of Doug Gabriel? 6th in points per drive with that unit.

Mac Not Happy With the Groceries

This framing is disingenuous. They are right now far and away the worst offense in football by EPA/Play, and they are even more far and away the worst passing offense in football by EPA/Play. I would agree, no QB would make this passing game EXCEL. They likely wouldn't have a top 10 passing...

Mac Not Happy With the Groceries

Even then he's only fine if his number one receiver wins and he can throw it to him on time from a solid base. If he has a good pocket but the number one option can't win, the feet get wonky and he throws changeups. His mechanics drive me nuts, and they drove me nuts at Alabama too, with pockets...

Mac Not Happy With the Groceries

That's the thing for me, he's failing with his mind. The physical tools are a given, we knew from the jump he'd need to be a fundamentally sound technician with high aptitude for the game and consistent process to become a high level starter in this league and to me he's none of those things. I...

PostGame Thread OFFICIAL POST GAME THREAD: Patriots Lose 34-0 to Saints

He plays quarterback as if he had John Elway's physical talent. Mahomes often drops deeper than the call because he's seeing something in the defense that makes him believe he'll have down field opportunities and they won't align with the called drop, but he has the lateral quickness to evade...

PostGame Thread OFFICIAL POST GAME THREAD: Patriots Lose 34-0 to Saints

Those Rodney comments are a mix of him sniffing his own farts over the "Patriot way" and a dumbass "kids these days" point. They suck because they're not talented enough. That's it. It's about time we stop pretending penalties, lack of execution in crunch time, turnovers are questions of "mental...
