Game Day Thread Official Post Game Thread- Packers beat the Pats

Yeah, I mean apparently he did split reps 50/50 this week, but right. There’s just no indication so far that he’s close to challenging for anything meaningful. I will add they seemed to be allowing Hoyer to throw more.

Game Day Thread Official Post Game Thread- Packers beat the Pats

Yup, I’m on board with that. And we absolutely had a chance to win. Regardless of any defensive issues, we had 2nd and 5 on the 45 in OT needing a fg to win. Pick up a first down and we’re there. But that wasn’t because zappe had done anything that warrants a QB battle lol

Game Day Thread Official Post Game Thread- Packers beat the Pats

That’s a little ridiculous on a few levels. The pats moved the ball great last week. Most yards per play in the NFL. The turnovers killed them, but not the ability to move the ball. Zappe was asked to do extremely little. Hand it off, take advantage of wide open receivers on PA. We tried a...

Game Day Thread Official Game Day Thread- Pats @ Packers

Zone, I don’t think that was on Jones. Phillips had to play the flat, so I think that was on Mack Wilson.

Pre Game Thread - Pats @ Packers

I actually don’t really think awareness was the issue there. I think he got beat on Andrews’ release when he tried to collision. At that point, he was face guarding and playing catch-up technique. The problem was the initial coverage. If he doesn’t lose position like that, he’s not going to be...

Pre Game Thread - Pats @ Packers

Actually it would be a good thing for the team to do well…. Hoyer playing better than Mac’s first 3 games this year doesn’t determine anything for the future. Hopefully Hoyer plays well and we can pull off an upset and be positioned to let Mac play well and be in a playoff race going forward.

Mac Jones Injury Video [UPDATE - X-Rays were negative]

Right, but the post I was quoting said “Either they lied when they told the press it was a sprain or he’s been touched by Jesus.” My point is I don’t think it’s accurate to claim that they told the press it was a [high ankle] sprain.

Mac Jones Injury Video [UPDATE - X-Rays were negative]

They didn’t ever release that it was a high ankle sprain. It may have been an ankle sprain but not a severe high ankle sprain.

Mac Jones Injury Video [UPDATE - X-Rays were negative]

Gosh, pretty surprising he’s back on the field throwing this quickly

The same guys that just did a great job against najee (6’1 232)? I think they’re equipped ok for that. Maybe the packers will have success on the ground, but I don’t think it’s because they can’t handle a big back.

Pre Game Thread - Pats @ Packers

Agree, I see the defense as a pretty solid run defense. I think their early down success in the first two weeks was pretty good. It then was definitely not good against the ravens, but the packers don’t have Lamar

Mac Jones Injury Video [UPDATE - X-Rays were negative]

Thanks- I’d say all 11 people still do know what they have to do from the get go, which includes the qb deciding run or pass. The only opportunity cost is you’re no longer having the receivers that are running routes blocking in the run game. But they still occupy defenders with their routes...

Pre Game Thread - Pats @ Packers

For what it’s worth, he could’ve been beaten deep if Lamar looked his way on this play. I noticed this live at the game.

Mac Jones Injury Video [UPDATE - X-Rays were negative]

For the second video, it makes me click on the link to go to Youtube rather than watching it embedded on this site. I think some issue with official NFL content. But maybe it's restricted in your country. You're of course entitled to like/dislike a play concept, but there are some valid...

Mac Jones Injury Video [UPDATE - X-Rays were negative]

The point of RPOs is to put a defender in conflict, and certainly not by requiring multiple long fixed routes. They’re generally going to be built off of quick game. This is the exact fundamental basis of RPOs. What you’re referring to (long-developing routes, QB running) really isn’t relevant...

Pre Game Thread - Pats @ Packers

I heard that Wise did cost us in the run game losing the edge a couple times, and also that he widened instead of compressing the puller on Lamar’s biggest run. But he certainly made a few impact plays, including the sacks.

Mac Jones Injury Video [UPDATE - X-Rays were negative]

Sorry, I didn’t really understand this post. I’m still not seeing why you’d think RPO’s require a mobile qb. Also, Tua beat us with them before having a great receiving corps. RPO’s would actually be a good idea for a team with a LESS talented wr corps. Rather than relying on guys to win 1v1...

Mac Jones Injury Video [UPDATE - X-Rays were negative]

I certainly disagree that it requires a threatening running qb. Why would it? It only requires processing and quick game accuracy. By the way, we’ve gotten shredded by Nick Foles and Tua doing it. They’re really threatening runners? For what it’s worth, Mac was quite good at it in college. I...

Is Mac the guy for the future?

Yeah, the targets I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt that it’s not all his fault. But his blocking has not been good.

Is Mac the guy for the future?

The dropped pick on the goal line was not 100% on him. Henry released his block (seemingly for no reason) and allowed that defender to undercut it. You can say Mac still holds SOME blame, but far less than 100%. This is what it looked like when Mac was starting his throw. Then Henry released...
