Is it too early to start the Chase Winovich DROY talk?

I can’t remember Bill heaping praise on a rookie like he did last night with Chase. He is usually a lot more measured with young players.

Players we could see traded (speculation)

He certainly doesn’t look good today

Curran: Maurice Harris will be out awhile

Is “a while” somewhere in between 3 weeks and 9 months?
  4. TheFlyingWedge

Players we could see traded (speculation)

I think Jonathan Jones in a trade makes the most sense. The Pats are loaded with young talent at cornerback and Jones will probably set the new value at slot corner next year, surpassing Justin Coleman in the ballpark of $10 million, so there’s no chance that he’ll be back. A lot of teams would...

Curran: Maurice Harris will be out awhile

Next man up, whoever that might be

Little OT: Why does Ben Coates never get any HOF consideration?

Ben Winter Coates was a “true TE” that was a monster road grader in the running game and a soft-handed receiving threat in the passing game. He had some of the flashy stats, but not the longevity of the pass catching TEs, like Gonzales or Sharpe who couldn’t block for Bleep. Unfortunately...

The Danny Etling era is OVER.

The era might not be over yet. Assuming that he doesn’t make anyone’s 53, he’ll probably be welcomed back to the Pats practice squad. The two things he has to offer: versatility, and hard work, mean a lot to Bill.
  8. TheFlyingWedge

Anyone else have the feeling ...

Patriots always need a few good ass whoopings early in the season so that Bill can lay into them and build the foundation.

Switch to 3-4 seems to be getting more official

The guys arms look like tree trunks
  10. TheFlyingWedge

The Danny Etling era is OVER.

His versatility makes him a good catch for the practice squad. Hopefully he won’t get picked up by someone who values versatility, like Bflo, Patricia, or Vrabel.

    Bill Belichick: Dominance Among Peers

Starting Eric Alexander in the AFC Championship wasn’t such a great decision in hindsight either.

    Rookie numbers released

The club should seriously consider unretirimg the numbers that are currently retired. There’s barely enough numbers to go around as it is, and several numbers far more deserving of being retired than those that already are.

    Braxton Berrios...My Binky

We could definitely use a returner so that Jules (or Patrick Chung) don’t risk injury, but Berrios risks landing on the shadow roster as he hasn’t done much to distinguish himself so far.

Barring Trades Are All Of These 23 Defensive Locks (or almost locks)?

They have a lot of depth at LB though. If a trade is made, it would be at a position of depth with a player, most likely, who is valuable to the Pats or to another team.

Barring Trades Are All Of These 23 Defensive Locks (or almost locks)?

Odd to see Duron Harmon getting reps in the first preseason game though isn’t it?

Barring Trades Are All Of These 23 Defensive Locks (or almost locks)?

Say what you will about Roberts, but he has put in some solid years for the Pats and held up well when he was needed. BB says that often a player’s greatest ability is his availability. I don’t think he’ll get cut... Traded maybe.

Poll: Which "Unknown" Player will be the best this year.

After Ninko’s retirement and the signings of characters like Eric Lee, James Harrison, Barkevious Mingo, and Cassius Marsh to take his place on the edge, it was great to finally get a guy like Simon who felt like a natural fit. Not sure he’s a lock but would be surprising if he gets cut.

    Rank our rivals (most hated/disliked)

Not sure if the Jets qualify as a rival but I pity them. They haven’t been a legit rival since the Tunabowl.
