I enjoyed the atmosphere and am sorry that it’s over. I’m no closer to being a soccer fan than before but see why the World Cup is enjoyed by so many.

Biggest hurdles for me getting into this sport:

(1). The constant moving backward to move forward.

(2). The flopping.

(3). Except for goalkeeper and "head," hands/arms/upper body aren't used. I assume enthusiasts will emphasize the subtle maneuvering allegedly requiring an upper-body skillset, but sorry ...

A smaller field would make things more interesting. I remember an indoor soccer league from quite a few years ago that was great fun to watch.

Was at a family gathering and the game was on. First game that I watched all tournament. My thoughts: 1. Spain was obviously better and deserved to win. 2. Halftime show sucked. 3. Madonna has a better plastic surgeon than Tom.

Seems like that's a routine ploy on both sides to get a breather - fake injuries and such.

Routine hydration breaks would help reduce that but they're at the call of the Ref

More a ploy to draw penalty calls, IMO.

Unrelated observation: the referees being awarded medals seems odd.

ESPN making sure every photo showing Lamine Yamal. Was he even one of the best 20 players of this World Cup and was he even one of the five best players on the field today? Yeah I get it that he’s 19 but let’s keep things real here.

I mean, you don't go 11 on 10 if your entire team doesn't bother playing the ball the entire game. Argentina legitimately could have had 3 guys sent off during this game.

Spain put Messi in jail, and Argentina had to resort to CONCACAF ball.

Argentina had no intent to try and play soccer/football. Their goal was to get to penalties. Pathetic way to play, and throw in the thuggery and you get the worst final we’ve seen.
