@Wozzy reminded that Christian Wilkins is still unsigned. Foot and attitude both issues, but if healthy he would be an interesting addition.

I may be getting into DW Toys territory here, and it's probably not feasible, but if the Pats somehow added both Wilkins and an EDGE (Thibodeaux > Sweat > Highsmith, IMO):

IDL: Milton Williams, Christian Barmore, Christian Wilkins, Josh Farmer, Corey Durden

EDGE: Thibodeaux/Sweat/Highsmith, Gabe Jacas, Dre'Mont Jones, Harold Landry, Elijah Ponder, Bradyn Swinson

That would be a top 4 DL, especially if either Landry can do anything or one of Ponder/Swinson develops.

They could be a top DL already, but I’d feel more secure with another talented DT in there. More edge would be a luxury more than a need at this point, they drafted Jacas.

I beg to differ. Our EDs:

Hutchins - a ****ing Disgrace; horrible, HORRIBLE ****ing pick
Jacas - unknown & unseen
DreMont Jones - a slightly better version of Dee Wise; Patsies cheaped-out with this signing
Landry - cooked
Luketa -
Ponder - low-ceiling UDFA worthy of competing for one of the backup spots
Swinson - loved the pick; but then the games started...

Sorry not sorry, but that list Sucks. Neither Hutchins nor Luketa deserve to be on even a 90-man roster never mind a 53-man one.

The following is channeling my inner DW Toys, probably wouldn't be feasible cap-wise (haven't worked it through), and would give up 2 2027 picks. But just for sh*ts and giggles, what if:

1. Pats trade Kayshon Boutte and a 2027 5th or 6th to NY Giants for Kayvon Thibodeaux.
2. Pats trade Pop Douglas and a 2027 4th to Miami for Jordyn Brooks.
3. Pats re-sign Stephon Diggs.

Then you have:

EDGE: Thibodeaux, Jacas, Jones, Landry, Ponder, Swinson

LB: Spillane, Brooks, Ellis, Britt, Muma

WR: Brown, Doubs, Diggs, Williams, Hollins, Chism

Yeah, it’s a definitely a long shot for Miami to trade Brooks to NE. The only thing that even makes it feasible (IMHO) would be the new regime (GM/Head Coach). They didn’t draft him & they seem to be cleaning house, so maybe they’d be more inclined to swing a deal. Hell, they’re fully aware they can’t compete with us anyway..

By all accounts he was out of shape and seemed a little immature.
He got kudos from the coaching staff for working hard on the PS last year and growing up.
Will he make a leap this camp? TBD.

The game he did play in, I was watching him quite closely because he was a binky of mine. He was quite uncontrolled. Lots of flailing limbs and not much of a plan. I got the impression he was pressing too hard, trying to make an impression. In the pre-season games, he was crashing inside a lot - he wasn't really trying to win the edge. I think that might have been down to scheme.
