Yes, they are. The prices for tickets and everything needs to come down. Seeing some reports that Gonzo wants 50 per. **** all that. I wonder when the end is. Seems untenable. These contracts are ridiculous.

Cap keeps going up, it's tenable until the inevitable gambling scandal takes down the league.Yes, they are. The prices for tickets and everything needs to come down. Seeing some reports that Gonzo wants 50 per. **** all that. I wonder when the end is. Seems untenable.
Man when I hear 70 plus per for Maye I am not even sold on that one either. IMO it's starting to become a draft extremely well, have coaches to develop said players and maybe you contend and trade guys once they start pinging the 100 per etc. Use said picks to reload and see what happens. The current situation is becoming untenable.I'm at the point where I think that they should pick up Gonzalez option and then trade him for a 1st when he has a year left. And that's not a knock on him, I would do the same to anyone but Maye. You can't pay multiple players 50 million plus a season and put a great team in the field. They are going to have to crush the draft every year and let players play their contracts out and replace them.
I like that idea. Then the usual suspects will whine about the owners making too much money etc etc. Just charge less for tickets and everything else. They won't do it though so in the end they will kill the league unless the cap goes to 1 billion per year.I think the days of single team domination are over. With every position player now wanting to break bank , you need to be like the Seahawks and hope you get the right team at the right time and hope some of your rookie players become studs.
So in essence build depth via veterans and decent players and keep pinging on drafts and if you strike it right , trade then during their 4th or 5th year to recycle those picks .
I don't think 3 stud players can win you a trophy if they hog all the cap space . The league needs to bring cap restrictions at player level else the game will go for a toss. No single player should get more than 10% of team cap space which means 30 million cap on any player.

Also Houston just paid this and they don't have a QB. Brilliant.
I've heard that... but as you mentioned injury.. he has been injured before.. he needs to secure his financial future. He has the same agents as Mcduffie i hear...It'll be more if he waits. Only danger is a career ending injury.
Patriots are going to get priced out of true contention like the Red Sox have. No chance the Patriots ever give out this contract, even if well deserved for Anderson.
The best economics in football are signing cheaper OL that can block expensive DL and cheaper CBs that can shutdown expensive WRs. If you can do those you can field a team with $40+ million more talent every where else.
I agree that most contracts have outs. Someone just posted that 134 million of the 150 million contract is guaranteed.Still, am always suspicious of these big deal announcements when they first happen. Remember when Diggs was first signed, it was hailed as a 3 year $69MM deal, and in the end, it was a one year deal for under $20MM. Most of these "big deals" come with a lot of outs for the team. That's why those contracts are measured in inches rather than a couple of pages
STILL, that is a **** load of money
IF they had a QB they would have mopped us up last year.

I hear what you are saying , let them reduce the games to 16. The way the world order is moving with AI and billionaire domination, not sure what the future holds and it's definitely not looking rosy.I get what you are saying about position caps but it's disgraceful that these billionaire owners have to be protected from themselves. If I'm the players I would never agree to it, and I would tell them that if they want their 18 game season and they can't control themselves then the cap should go away completely and then they can spend all they want. Billionaires are destroying this country.
Yep! Ty law said when he got paid it was unheard of for a CB to get his type of contract.. he was making 7M then.. I'm what gonzo is going to get..Cap keeps going up, it's tenable until the inevitable gambling scandal takes down the league.
Until then, let these kids make their money.
