Can't speak to anyone else's sense of morality, but IMO cheating on a committed relationship is never OK. Big caveat that we don't know if Vrabel and his wife have a mutual understanding regarding sexual encounters beyond the relationship.

Seems the voices complaining about the nature of the reporting and suggesting this is a nothingburger are doing so with the unspoken premise that people should be allowed to do whatever they please in their private lives without judgment; perhaps there's some fairness to that notion, but the reporting isn't fabricated or pulled out of thin air - it's literally just photographs of Vrabel spending one-on-one time at a couple's resort with a woman involved in the industry he works in, who is not his wife.

Unless you are a party to the terms of that relationship you are being very presumptive to project your beliefs about what they should be onto others.

In fairness do you want everyone to decide what it’s okay for you to do in your private life?

Or she may really not care that he’s doing it but decides she has to care because so many people tell her she should.

Real question is who gains by stirring this **** up?

Is it some jealous colleague of Rossini? Some reporter hoping a job on the Athletic opens up? Some coach hoping to undermine the Pats? Or just some clickbait website trying to inflate views to move more cash into their pockets?

Which of those would you rather be helping accomplish their agenda?

Now that you mention it, we are party to the terms of Vrabel's relationship with his wife.

We know they were married within the Catholic church. We know that mandates a publicly stated mutual promise to forsake all others. Those vows last until death do they part, not until the next NFL Owners' meetings. No one is being presumptive here. That's kinda what the marital vows in the Church are.

I can understand people saying "maybe nothing happened." I consider that a very reasonable take. But if you want to stake yourself on the hill that "gee, you know, maybe Vrabel has an open relationship and maybe his devout Catholic wife doesn't mind him having sex with another woman and who are you to assume she would be upset??" then you go right ahead. Good luck with that.

Meanwhile, the rest of us prefer living in the real world.

some of the least moral people i have ever met were through the Catholic Church.......at least until the "modern" "Christians" showed up in this country

i grew up going to Church - confirmed my senior year, CDC all the way through

there were some great people - and some absolute scumbags....I saw no different a cross-section of humanity than outside the Church - within the Church itself, I'd say more good than bad, and love the direction the Vatican has gone......but in terms of the practicing members? Can't say they were any more or less moral than folks outside, just some took hypocrisy to a higher level

modern, faux Christianity in this country right now.....that's a whole other level of heretics

Prosperity gospel and it running alongside, and in counter to, the then budding popularity of liberation theology, is a fascinating rabbit hole to dive down.

Belichick was a notorious adulterer for decades and he kept it all at arms length from his teams without any impact… well at least in the days when he believed in ignoring the noise before he became the noise.

Vrabel isn't an a-hole like Bill either so I'm sure the media won't press things too far and just keep it to football with him.

A combination of
1) someone being in the right place at the right time with a camera, then realizing that those pictures would have value to someone, and then profiting off them; and
2) some buyer of said pics looking to monetize the clicks

By the way, somewhat related and true story. A buddy of mine wanted to catch up and grab a beer. I found some (metaphorical) hole in the wall place I hadn't been to downtown. Told the hostess "Bar or table is fine, we're just two, totally straight, definitely not gay dudes having a beer together" just in a jokingly insecure way, as if two straight men can't just sit at a table and have a beer. It would've been a hilarious joke, if it hadn't turned out to be a gay bar. I started catching on when I saw the bartender dressed as a pirate and the rainbow flags on the shelf. Talk about unlucky
