Pundit mock drafts 2026 [maybe with FAILs]

Imagine something like:

171. CJ Demmings or Ephesians Prysock, CB. Big, athletic outside CBs. CB4 in 2026, potential Carlton Davis replacements in 2027.

191. Adam Randall or Chip Trayanum, RB. Big, powerful guys who are more than just pounders, with pass-catching ability. RB 3-4 in 2026, potential Rhamondre Stevenson replacements in 2027.

198. Eli Heidenreich or Cyrus Allen, Slot WR. Super-quick guys who can break ankles and get open in a phone booth.

204. Jordan Van den Berg or DaMonte Capehart, DT. Athletic 1-techs who can chew up blockers, but can also create pressure. Khyiris Tonga replacements in 2026.

212. Micah Morris, IOL. Athletic and powerful, LG/RG versatility. Solid IOL5 in 2026, potential more athletic Mike Onwenu replacement in 2027.

There are lots of TE, outside WR, and LB candidates as well. Great year to have 4 6th round picks, could use 7 of them.

No snark, why is Morris consistently rated in the 200's?
 
I have no idea. I have a 4th round grade on him.

Hope it stays that way.
 
My impression is that there are so many ridiculously athletic and talented prospects, people can't get to them all, and just dump the rest into a heap. Those who do evaluate often vary widely.

Jordan Van den Berg is often listed in the 200s. Mike Renner had him at 121 in February. Van den Berg has been top-20 on Bruce Feldman's freaks list for 3 years.

It's a good question. I can only think of three reasons.

1. He's a bit stiff. He's a weight room warrior and that bulk doesn't lend itself to flexibility. He's very athletic other than that though.

2. This is his first year as a full time starter - previously he was a backup and spot starter.

3. Sometimes people fall through the cracks of draft pundit land. See Travis Burke and Jimmy Rolder.

Probably is an observer. There are a lot more regular participants here this year with enough newish questions asked and favorite players raised that an experienced draftnik can sit in on some of the threads and catch up pretty quick.

firstly, there's no way in hell Iheanachor falls to 63 unless there are character concerns/injury issues we don't know about and I will be very disappointed if Caden Curry is the first EDGE we draft. The early names are good names, it's just not that believable as a Patriots mock.

In my dreams.

Some thoughts:

1. Caleb Banks is a top-5 talent in this draft for me. The injury issue could drop him, and he would be very tempting. He would be BPA based on pure talent, skill and impact ... IF he could stay on the field. That said, Milker seems to think of him as a NT, which he is not, and which takes away his best skill. Kayden McDonald (39) would be better for a NT, though I personally prefer Banks.

2. Much as I'd love it. there is no way Max Iheanachor gets within 20-30 picks of 63.

3. Miller's mock seems like a best-case scenario. Lots of good options at 31 (Iheanachor, McDonald), 63 (Mike Washington, Chris Bell, Jake Golday, Treydan Stukes) and 95 (Ted Hurst, DDS, Keyron Crawford). He seems a bit out of touch with values.

In my version, I stick to my board and keep it simple.

I would say the back to back TE selections won’t happen as well.

Especially before we take an Edge.
Some good players, but I would not be happy with this.
 
Also has DDS in the 4th.
I would not be happy if he was there in the 3rd, and we didn’t take him.
