Manx (aka Manman) has commented that he has never seen so many older prospects as this year. Perhaps this is the "new normal". This article suggests that NIL money is one of the reasons:

It makes sense. Many players don't reach a 2nd NFL contract. With NIL money, they can squeeze in an extra year of getting paid. If they get to a 2nd NFL contract, they are set.

The college football is becoming more like an NFL farm system. I suspect this will continue.

Which is why, although I'm very bullish about next years draft, we should still be cautious. Next year will have it's Jelani Mcdonald's and Yhonzae Pierre's too.

The only thing I would say is that I wonder how much Covid affected all this. There are prospects who lost their first year in college or last year in HS to Covid still, although, six years removed they are finally working out of the system.

Now I'm off to do a search of current 4th year seniors available in next years draft to find my 24/25 year old binkies for next year.

It should be Retroactive to Former College Players: some of those old Schools and Coaches make me sick. Amassing Generational wealth while those players have nothing to show for it. I love what the Players are doing now: this will help them in so many ways: get your while you can.
